The Lindsay has been a landmark in 'Chowringhee'. We stayed in april and celebrated our first anniversary, our stay at the property was pleasant and comfortable. Basic facilities and guest amenities were available. Smooth check-In, the gentleman at the reception was welcoming and professional. Lindsay has a prime location which is very convenient to visit the nearby historical sites and buildings. Unfortunately we couldn't experience the famous rooftop restaurant on our last visit, however, on our upcoming stay we would try to do so. I would recommend the lindsay, for a comfortable short staycation with good restaurants and basic amenities. Looking forward to our next visit soon..........!!
I booked hotel for 2 nights, when i reached rooms were not ready & i have to wait for long 30 min. Once i got the room it was dirty, not properly cleaned. Asked to change my room but denied later agreed but all the rooms are same only. I felt i stayed in a lodge. Property need a makeover. Staff were helpfull, reception guys are friendly & cooperative.
This was a stay for a short work trip (4 nights), and I felt they could improve a lot. They have a lovely old world charm Pros: Central location, near New Market Beautiful property, old world charm, some rooms have large windows Great food, even simple room service food is spectacular Nice roof top restaurant Cons: Staff seems to have lost interest, simply dont care. I was served soup in a dirty infected bowl (see pic). All I got was a sorry, next morning the manager acted as if its no big deal. Was not offered a refund, was charged in full. My colleague who is 6 feet 4 inches tall, asked thrice for his two beds to be joined. On the third night, he actually begged, before the staff paid any heed. Rooms are not cleaned well. Cockroaches in the bathroom are a common site They shamelessly charge you for extra tea and coffee sachets, that too RS 10 per sachet!! Someone please tell them that coffee sachets costs about Rs 2 and tea is Ra 5. Staff is rude to a point, they a single lady traveler is not helped to carry her luggage to her car, parked less than 100 meters away. I don't recommend, unless the staff and management wakes up. Sadly might have to stay there again, as my company travel agent books with them. …
It is situated in a very commercial market area. It is even very difficult to figure out the location. There is no hotel like feeling in the entrance. It is just in the midway of a market. It may be good for sole business visits, otherwise not preferable for family with children. Rooms are old but its okay. The housekeeping and complementary breakfast are satisfactory. The good part is that it is adjacent to famous Hoggs market which is crowded all the time. The price is bit overrated.
The hotel is kind of vintage- the rooms were okay-ish. We upgraded our room as the pictures were not matching based on what we had booked. The geyser hold very small amount of water thus you can refill bucket and wait for more water if needed. The breakfast was good. Didn't get to try the rooftop restaurant though. The staff are cordial.
