Some friends brought me here for breakfast on a recent working holiday in Olinda. I was blown away by the rustic charm of the dining room and even more blown away by the amazing view out of old Olinda and in the distance Recife. The breakfast was exquisite and all the staff were extremely attentive - they even brought our... More

(Português em baixo...) This is a wonderful bed and breakfast which we've come to know well over the years. My wife and I live in Olinda and love visiting the Amparo for a romantic dinner or a relaxed breakfast looking over the palm trees to Recife in the distance. Even though we've never stayed a night we always recommend it... More

The Pousada is ideally located in the quaint and cobbled old town of Olinda, a short walk from everything (for the Brits - just opposite is Bodega de Veio, where Michael Palin visited when we he was in Olinda). It has a charming, antique decor with art on display by local artists. The restaurant is situated on a terrace out... More

Spent a morning here having breakfast. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is very peaceful and the staff are great. It has an incredible view from old town Olinda. The food included all different types of meats, cheeses, cakes, breads, fruits and more. Perfect end to an amazing time in Olinda.

Lets get out of the way what this pousada is not. If you want a Hilton air conditioned and Swiss clockwork efficiency then go to Recife. Amparo is rustic, quaint, quirky, with charming staff, and a small pool for dipping in between strolling the historic city centre. Our bedroom,Fortim, was in the main block and reasonably quiet with good air... More

First the good: prompt check-in (which arriving late was welcome); outside space in the room (a balcony in the eaves), hot water and a good location. Service on check-out was good. Fundamentally nice buildings. The bad: the room, while large and clean was very run-down. Worse, the bed hadn't been made up fully -no pillows or pillow cases, just the... More

My husband and I visited the restaurant for our anniversary. We had made a reservation and they put us in a beautiful spot overlooking the garden with a fabulous view of Reciefe by night. Very romantic. The atmosphere was peaceful, despite being in the bustling old town of olinda. The waiter was very welcoming and looked after us well. We... More

Located within the world Heritage City and a true taste of living in the wonderful old town houses. This is a very charming hotel, with a number of uniquely decorated rooms. we had an outdoor terrace with a bathtub and seating area. Staff are very helpful and willing to assist. However, the rooms are in two buildings on opposite sides... More

We were recommended to the Pousada do Amparo by friends who live in Olinda and we were not disappointed. The manager (who speaks English) and staff were very friendly and looked after us very well. We were in the room called Soudade in the house over the road from the main building. It was a lovely comfortable big room with... More
