While I cant say what the inside of the hotel or the cabins are like as I've only camped here I will say that this park has always been beautiful. The past few years have seen a decline in the condition of the grounds and general upkeep of things but I feel that may more from lack of funds than...

Teasha thank for visiting beautiful Cheaha State Park. It is indeed one of our crown jewels. And, we are happy to say that improvements to the park are coming this year!

First, the good. The trails in and around Cheaha State Park absolutely live up to their billing. Beautiful, thrilling vistas and overlooks. Fun and challenging trails. A good, all-around wilderness/outdoors experience. From the handicap accessible boardwalk at Bald Rock to the more challenging Chinnabee Silent Trail, there is something here for everyone. So, the natural attractions are certainly worth the...

I am very sorry to read of your terrible experience at Cheaha. I do appreciate your candid details, they will be helpful to us as we address these issues. Because Alabama citizens overwhelmingly passed Amendment 2, we are able to devote more funds to upgrading and renovating our parks, Cheaha included. In the meantime, though, there is no excuse for...

Our children booked a family gathering for a "significant" wedding anniversary the weekend after Thanksgiving. We had two of the four-person cabins on a glorious weekend full of Fall color. We had read some of the previous reviews and were concerned, but that concern was unjustified. Check-in staff were friendly and helpful. Cabins were clean with rustic charm. (You are...

Thank you for visiting us! I appreciate your detailed comments - we have plans to upgrade Cheaha's restaurant operation in the very near future. We look forward to you coming back in the Spring!

Just turn around. Complete waste of time and money. Took 1 hr for food. Salad bar was disgusting and no selection. Food was no better than waffle house. Went here for 1 yr anniversary. I've had better service & food at Applebee's. Not a great value. My poor husband. He is so simple, never fusses. Even he said the place...

We stayed at the campground for a week in our RV. The bathrooms were brand new and kept clean. There was a drought so water was limited. There is no natural water source on the mountain so they tank water into the park. We did not receive a warning that the water would run out. All of the sudden water...

While traveling from Atlanta to Birmingham, we decided to spend the night in the hotel. The room was clean and adequate, nothing fancy. The restaurant service for dinner and breakfast was good- service excellent as few customers, and the food reasonably priced. We drove the area to the lake and the cabin areas and memories of hikes and swimming rebound....

Could have stayed for days. The historic cabins have been remodeled in past years and have nice counters and updated baths but still rustic. Of course you're in the wild so don't be surprised to have little creature visits. The view from the bluff is good but the trees could be trimmed back a bit for an even more awesome...

I loved staying in the stone cabin on the ridge!! I felt like I was living in a cross between a Pioneer life with a beautiful view & a storybook!💞💕 I wanted to stay longer & we do plan to go back & stay longer. The furniture is made from raw wood, the stove top has a grill & there...

Lots of potential, but in need of some TLC. Everything in our chalet worked, but could have been cleaner. I was ready to give our stay at Cheaha State Park chalets a negative review until I found out the reason the chalet we stayed at was not up to expectations. Alabama has been robbing the Department of Natural Resources of...

We stayed at a full service campsite in a motorhome. No problems there, easy access. We did not check out the bath house. Like the other reviewers, the place is a natural beauty, but poor management is obvious. Attached are pictures taken of overfull dumpsters. One was next to the visitor's center and the other at the campground entrance. These...
