I happen to stay in Taj Exotica, Goa for the first time and found it very refreshing after my 4 days stay in North Goa.
->Area and Surroundings: The hotel is very well located in Cavelossim beach and have its private beach front. It takes about 35-40 mins from Dabolim airport (GOI) to reach to this place. The hotel is very old and exists for more than 15-20 years so they enjoy a fantastic location. The hotel is built in open architecture so one enjoys the GOAN feel (provided the weather is good).
The hotel is spread in huge peace of land and has multiple categories of rooms. With the inventory, the hotel becomes an obvious choice for holding various events such as weddings and corporate events. The rooms are also spread out over the property and it actually took us about 10 mins walk from front desk to reach our room. (Hotel has golf carts for one and all those who need it)
->Room: We were putting in the “Executive suite” which had great views of the ocean. Since the room was on one corner of the property, we had kind of private feeling with least interference from adjoining rooms. But this also made our walk to our rooms a little longer. The room was inviting in pastel colors of hues. A very spacious living area a 4 person dining table and a WC was well positioned. I would also like to appreciate the small study created in this area which was most used by myself. The living room had its own sitout with a table chair setup. The bedroom was also very spacious with a vanity, a small sitting and its own private sit out. The Coffee machines, a small minibar refrigerator, iron and iron board, weighing scale etc. are standard in all rooms. Taj also never forgets the coffee capsule machine for its guests. Open layout wardrobes, thoughtful luggage stowing space made the luggage much accessible. One looks forward for a comfortable sleep at night and Taj guarantees that with extremely comfortable mattress and a pillow menu.
I was very impressed with the artifacts, lighting and the color scheme of the room. It really set the tone to a laid back and relaxing vacation. What I found missing was a recliner inside or outside the room.
->Bathroom and Bathing experience: The bathroom too was a good size. With a sperate WC and Shower enclosure, makes it to be used by different guests living in the same room at same time. A beautifully bath tub that cab be con-joined with the room (otherwise separated by louver wooden door). With shaving mirror, his and her side closets, electronic safe, Hair blower, weighing machine, iron board and iron. Nothing was missed. The water temperature and pressure were really good and pleasant for a perfect freshening bath.
->Hotel and Grounds: The hotel is an open architecture (which most of the hotels in Goa are), this makes it comfortable for the guest to enjoy natural climate and get a break from regular Air-conditioning environments of other modern hotels. The reception area was very unique and gave a very peaceful feeling.
->Swimming Pool and Kids zone: The pool of this hotel is great in size. There are ample number of beach beds. The one thing which put me OFF was the tiles of the pool. They need much repair. At many places the tile edges and tile joints were coming off which made it very uncomfortable and dangerous.
There was a separate kids pool as well with some sort of waterfall, but the kids pool tiles were even worse. I should caution hotel to schedule and empty the pool to do the repairs as soon as possible.
The hotel has kids’ room which was really good and entertaining. It had series of outdoor slides and swings. Our daughter enjoyed a lot under supervision of trained staff. The fuss ball table was rusted and had no slope on either side. The hotel also offers activities throughout the day for kids as well as adults.
->Hotel Staff I was very well greeted by the check-in staff and the check-in check-out process was very quick and smooth. The people at hotel were helpful and warm. They were ever smiling and courteous.
->Breakfast: The hotel breakfast was 10/10. The food spread was huge and the taste was excellent. I would recommend one and all to must try food at the hotel. Even the room service was fantastic.
The south Indian food at our breakfast was lip smacking. We even tried lunch twice at the restaurant and it also had all sorts of Indian and international varieties.
->Special mention: The room wifi was very good. Mr. Vinci was very helpful and warm to accommodate a special cake cutting for our daughter during breakfast. I would also like to mention the manager (I forgot her name, she was from Delhi), on day of our checkout we wanted to hold room till 4:00 PM, she assured that even if we have to leave this room, she would allow us to go to another room and be comfortable with family and kids. I have not heard any hotel going to this extent to make the guests comfortable. Much much appreciated.

It was our 18th wedding anniversary, and I wished to surprise my husband with a one week vacation in Goa.Following much consideration, I opted for the Taj Exotica at Benaulim to suprise him.
We were warmly greeted by staff, who welcomed us with music, a shell garland and a welcome drink. The check in process proceeded smoothly, and we were given an in-depth introduction to the amenities offered by the resort, Out room the Garden Villa 309 , was spacious and inviting.
The entire staff exhibited impressive diligence. They always greets us whenever our paths crossed. On our anniversary we were pleasantly surprised at our breakfast invited us wz a cake and music and our rooms decorated. Such gestures are highly appreciated.
The breakfast buffet at Sala Da Pranzo was decent , although not as elaborate as in other Taj properties dinner was similar. However , after expressing our concerns to Chef Praveen , he ensured that we enjoyed our dinner throughout the seven night stay. We frequented Adego Camoens, the beautiful lounge bar, for our daily evening beverages,
The hotel provides guests wz a free two hour bicycle ride, which we greatly enjoyed . They also have an archery program which comes at an extra cost. Their daily guests activity change every day. The swimming pool is quite large with enough beds, the staff were efficient in providing pool towels and promptly attended to any food or refreshments order.
The staff are undoubtedly the gems of the property, I would like to extend a special thanks to Ram, Esther , Princeton and K at the restaurant . The housekeeping staff Ravinder and Trilochan . But our star was Dheer who really took care of us at the restaraunt as we can be a bit picky guests .
In conclusion, Tak Exotica is a superb beach property that served as the perfect location for us to rejuvenate.
Our experience was a memorable one.

We took time out of our busy schedules to celebrate a friend’s birthday, planning a weekend stay from Saturday to Monday. From the moment we arrived, the front office team went above and beyond, upgrading us to a beautiful sea view room that opened into lush, well-maintained lawns. A special shoutout to Gautam and Ashwin, who made our stay incredibly comfortable and went out of their way to assist us throughout.
They even surprised us by decorating the room with a delicious chocolate cake for the birthday celebration, which was a lovely touch. The resort had a daily activity list for both kids and adults, ensuring there was always something to do, and the Happy Hours were the cherry on top.
While the pool could use some repairs, the poolside service was excellent. We enjoyed freshly grilled corn on the cob, cocktails, and food served on demand. The staff was consistently attentive and eager to help.
The beach was almost private, and there was a lifeguard on duty throughout our stay, making it feel safe and serene. For the birthday dinner, we dined at the Goan restaurant. While the food was decent, it didn’t quite meet our expectations, as we’ve had better local cuisine in Goa. However, the all-day coffee shop more than made up for it with a wide variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, along with an impressive selection of desserts and chaats.
Breakfast was a busy time, but the team managed it well without long waits. It would be wonderful if they could add 1-2 more specialty restaurants, like other IHCL properties, to offer guests more dining options and unique cuisines.
Overall, we had a wonderfully relaxing trip. We didn’t feel the need to leave the property at all and returned home feeling completely rejuvenated. Highly recommend for a peaceful getaway!

I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. Everything from the upscale appointment of the accommodation (ours was a garden villa), the food, the staff, the manicured garden surroundings, the spas, the pool area, the beach front and general location was excellent. Whether you want a relaxing break or have a special occasion the Taj Exotica is a great option in Goa. One of the best hotels we have stayed at anywhere, not just in Goa.
The hotel and its location are reason enough to stay here if you are coming to Goa but the staff really add to the experience. They have clearly been extremely well trained and cannot do enough to help you and enhance your stay. Every member of staff with whom we had a contact were really good to the extent it seems a little unfair to point out specific individuals but Brandon on the reception team, Creson in the restaurant and Mohitabh in the bar were especially attentive.
At breakfast the restaurant offers both Indian options and more traditional European selections. At lunchtime and / or evening it offers a tremendous selection of Indian dishes (both vegetarian and meat based) as a buffet and there is also an alternative al a carte menu should you prefer or do not want Indian dishes every day. Naveen and his kitchen staff certainly ensured we did not go without quantity, quality or choice.
You should not restrict yourself to the hotel's restaurant alone albeit you would not be disappointed if you did. However, there are some very good restaurants very close by such as Cavatina and many of the shacks along the beach also offer good food and cocktails at extremely favourable prices. It's enjoyable to just sit in the sun at one of the shacks watching the fishermen bring their boats and day's catch ashore. They are all a very short walk along the beach from the Taj Exotica.
The beds were very comfortable enabling a good sleep every night. The cleaning staff also merit a mention because they perform an unseen job coming round twice each day cleaning and making up the rooms and then again in the evening to tidy and offer a turning down service. The whole venue, from our room to the hotel facilities throughout were always clean and well looked after.
The spa offers a good selection of treatments at surprisingly reasonable prices for an hotel of this quality. If you are staying here it would be a shame not to treat yourself.
Taj Exotica is a total recommendation.

No need to leave the hotel, everything is there, unless you've never been to Goa before, worth visiting, though not much to see concerning the Portugese colonisation. Restaurants, pools, beach, activities, day outings etc are all at hand. Restaurants are much more expensive than eating outside, perhaps that's why the restaurants had very few diners, but then the cleanliness, the hygiene, the decor, the choice, make it really worth the while. The very big beautiful suite 204 had a beautiful view, very comfortable bed and pillows and was quiet. The personnel was very friendly and always available.

We were thoroughly impressed with the staff during our stay. Their attentiveness and hospitality were remarkable, and they took fantastic care of us—catering to all our needs and ensuring we were comfortable. They went the extra mile, even preparing dishes tailored to our palate, which we greatly appreciated.
Overall, a heartfelt thank you to the entire team and all the staff members. They were the ones who left a lasting positive impression on us and made our stay truly unforgettable. And especially Miss Aishwarya!
The hotel celebrated its 25th anniversary this year, and while it is undoubtedly a great property, it does feel a bit dated in certain aspects and we expected more. On the positive side, the property is big, well-maintained, and beautifully green. the swimming pool is also very big. The little villa houses have a charming, cute appearance. That said, the hotel does feel dated. The rooms were plainly designed and lacked a cozy atmosphere. For instance, there was no art on the walls, the room controls, such as light switches, are not centralized by the bedside. This means you have to walk around the room to turn off individual lamps or lights in the corridor and bathroom. Additionally, the pillows and mattress were not very comfortable and there was no mosquito net protection on the terrace door, which would have been a welcome addition.
We were also not fans of the hotel's stray animals policy. Cats roaming freely outside, particularly around the buffet restaurant, can be a nuisance. For guests with cat allergies, this could be especially problematic, as you had to ensure they didn’t approach your table. However - there were guests who liked it and were even petting them. Also, there are occasional stray dogs on the beach, and while the entrance to the beach is gated—which does provide a sense of security—it also feels a bit disconnected from the overall hotel experience. Before exiting through the gate to the beach, guests are offered wooden sticks as a precaution against the stray dogs. While we never encountered any aggressive behaviour (the dogs were actually very friendly), this precaution felt quite unusual and not in line with the atmosphere you’d expect from a 5-star hotel. We were reassured that all animals were vaccinated!

There are many positives about this property, the grounds are lovely and meticulously maintained, whilst a bit dated the room was large, well decorated and very comfortable for our 5 night stay.
There are a few things we found very disappointing during our stay.
Probably our greatest annoyance is that there is a major issue with guests reserving sunbeds. I honestly cannot remember the last time I stayed at a hotel where this was an issue. Guests seemed to be getting up early to place towels on sunbeds and by the time we went to breakfast c9am the majority of spots were empty but reserved. Rather than being controlled by staff this seemed to be actively encouraged, a couple of times they told us if we wanted to leave just place our possessions on the loungers and come back later.
The beach is absolutely lovely, but there are nine pairs of sunbeds on the beach to serve the entire resort, and again we struggled to get sunbeds whilst they remained empty but reserved for guests who turned up hours later.
We also found the food and drink both expensive and poor, and spent almost all of our time out of resort at local beach shacks which were cheap and far better in quality.
They also hosted a conference one day and particularly as they set up sound tested extremely loud and bass heavy music which caused a lot of disturbance to our relaxation.
The staff at the resort are fantastic, they could not be more helpful, and I am quite saddened to leave a mixed review, but there are are definitely some improvements needed and I hope management listen. A number of other people we met at the resort had visited before and commented on the deterioration.

Thus is our second visit to the property and the idyllic location unspoilt by too much commercialisation is what brought us back for a special family visit this month . The outside foliage is much more mature than from our previous visit.
I am rating the property at five only for the support staff for their effort and not for the front office team members for steadfast adherence to the commercial aspects . The property duty manager on one of the days was very curt . Had it not been for the Guest service Manager Shabana i would have rated it below par . The check in experience was marred by the staffs curt demeanour . I do feel that I should have been compensated more for having booked early and paid a top cut price per night versus later on in September month somehow the room prices dropped briefly !
Overall the property looks every bit grand as intended by the owners . Our villa with private plunge pool was top notch in terms of amenities and cleanliness . The common pool users personal hyegine made us stay away from using it at all .
Our afternoon teas were in the Hora de Cha (tea lounge ) with the super attentive serving staff was a pleasant experience each day .
Let me not forget our visits to Jiwa spa which were excellent and rejeuvenated us .
All in all it was an enjoyable trip

The main hotel building is a fine mix of Goan and Portuguese colonial style. We stayed for two weeks in a premium garden room. The grounds are vast, including a nine hole golf course and cricket pitch. Our room was located in meticulously maintained gardens of sub-tropical vegetation - a villa building separately comprising two rooms ground floor and two rooms first floor. The room was generally first class, although rather tired in a few respects e.g. the shower door did not entirely fit. Staff were universally polite and friendly. We were given several unsolicited freebies by the management and regularly asked if we had any problems. The adjacent beach was great. Most of the foreign tourists in the hotel ( mainly British) were repeat visitors. Breakfasts were buffet style and involved a good selection of different cuisines. We only ate dinner in the hotel once as we found the several beach shacks and other restaurants nearby equally as good at about a quarter of the price. However, we can understand some guests prefer hotel dining.

To be honest - the Taj has a beautiful location and very lovely gardens with lovely big rooms. great staff But it stops there...... A few things we observed during our stay - toilet paper was missing in all toilets both in the main building and the beach. on multiple occasions. bins were overflowing and hand towels were missing too. On the Sunday morning we observed outside around 9am empty beer bottles and other debris on tables below the main bar on the ground floor whilst returning from our Yoga session Cutlery was missing on the breakfast tables and we had to ask 3 out of the 4 morning for this We had booked 2 rooms with sea views - our ground floor rooms had NO sea views whatsoever Having long haired large dogs in the Restaurant is extremely unhygienic - I love dogs and had one for 13 years but would not allow them in restaurants The housekeeping was not great at all - bottles water half empty left there, no toiletries replaced. Dressing gowns left just hanging in same place and turn down service was minimal. Toilet paper also had to be requested in our bedroom AFTER turndown service one night. Doors are old and stained in places, tiles broken outside, Swimming pool bridge is derelict and left in that state. More beds are needed on the beach - we lay on mats on the beach as the same people took the beds every day. This Hotel could be special but given the prices that you are charging - the level or both appearance and service has got to improve. The Taj does not meet 5 star standards and we are a well travelled family. A pity but something needs to change ......
