I'm one who doesn't favour boutique hotels. I was researching on the net for our Malacca self-drive trip (for 5 adults and 1 child), I was in a dilemma on a regular hotel or boutique hotel. After ploughing through various sites, I decided to give Hotel Puri a try. The hotel is located at a street just beside Jonker Street...

My wife and I together with a couple of friends dropped in on this hotel by recommendation of a taxi driver.we negotiated a price reduction to stay for a couple of days. The hotel was very comfortable and the staff so welcoming. The breakfast was terrific with a great deal of choice, English if you wanted it but why go...

The Hotel Puri is a wonderful find in the city of Melaka and a solid choice for any tourist. This used to be the home of a former Chinese immigrant from Fujian province who became a successful businessman and who donated money to his community in Melaka. The hotel is restored beautifully with courtyards, gardens, restaurant, a small museum and...

I came across the hotel in a TV programme. The hotel is full of surprises. The road in front of the hotel is very narrow, but the hotel staff lead my husband to park the car inside a building nearby, that has huge ample space between buildings! The old building façade looks very small from the front (with a very...

We loved this hotel, very traditional in a great area, right next to Jonkers. We arrived early and the hotel did their best to get our room ready earlier, which they managed to do. We had a lovely suite, three beds and a living area. The breakfast was great, buffet style in a lovely cool courtyard. The hotel has been...

The lobby is nice but once you get over the first impression there really is nothing special about this hotel that makes it stand out. Room was very mediocre and dark with no real window and so so beds, the corridors are dark and old and the whole place feels like it needs a refurbishment. Location is good but probably...

The hotel is quite well known in Melaka. It’s a very well maintained heritage building in peranakan style. A lot of people went there to take photos, even wedding photos! The ambience was simply great! It’s an experience by simply walking around inside the hotel. The backyard was also very lovely. The location was very good. It’s at a relatively...

This lovely hotel located in the historical town of Malacca used to be the home of Tan Kim Seng (there is a road named after him in Singapore). And that makes it doubly historical. There are even swifts making their home in the hotel! The staff is well trained, friendly and makes guests feel very welcomed. The room is clean...

Went here in November with the whole family and had 3 rooms. The rooms were clean and comfortable and shower/bathroom was excellent (new and clean). The hotel is one (or two or more) of the old Malacca houses and has plenty of character yet still comfortable. We arrived early and managed to get into our rooms a bit earlier after...
