Clean, bright, almost spartan rooms that nonetheless offer everything you need and nothing you don't. Walk-in shower works well for me. Fridge, microwave, hairdryer, iron, TV, WiFi, etc. are all there. I do agree with others here that their furniture looks like it comes from IKEA, so it is not as "warm" as some people might expect. I didn't have any trouble hearing upstairs neighbors clomping on the uncarpeted wood floors, as I read in other reviews. Minimal hot breakfast served by a kind lady included meat and eggs, and the homemade waffles were good. A bit of a line, though. All in all, a good, clean and safe place to stay in Mobile.
Our first stay at a Tru brand so we didn’t know what to expect. We will make this our stop when we travel this way. Our room was clean and comfortable. Toiletries are high quality and furnishings are modern. Pet friendly is an all new type.. our Peanut got his own welcome bag with a tennis ball & treats. Our room was located next to an exit door near the dog walking area. This was the best pet experience we’ve had in a hotel. Location is great! Near shopping and the ballpark .. one could really walk to many of the nearby restaurants and shops. There is no pool. They do have a new pool table
We were traveling on our first post COVID car trip from Florida to New Orleans and stopped here for an overnight stay before continuing our trip. The hotel had a very clean look to it and was exactly what it advertises it is a no frills hotel. The room was small but adequate and had a very clean look to it. The hotel is surrounded by shopping centers including a Costco. The staff were very hospitable and all were wearing masks. The breakfast included some hot items but the staff would serve these items and other items were out and available such as fruit, yogurt and cereals. The hotel had a pool table in the lobby and other items to entertain the guests. WiFi worked well. Would recommend this above average budget hotel
My stay at this property was great very clean rooms the staff was courteous and very attentive. I will book here again on my next visit to Mobile. I also love the fact tat it was so close to downtown!
This was my first stay at a Tru and I was a bit disappointed with the room, as compared to other similarly priced properties I’ve visited, such as Hampton and several of the Choice brands. The room was quite small, there was no closet or dresser, nowhere to place my bags, no coffee maker, no microwave, etc. The pillows and mattresses were also a bit disappointing, again as compared to a Hampton or other similar properties both within and outside of the Hilton family of brands. There was no coffee in the lobby in the evenings and the breakfast was a very meager selection, and given that it was being served rather than self-serve due to COVID, I didn’t even feel comfortable asking for more than the minimal servings I was offered. On the other hand, the property was relatively new and attractively designed, and everything appeared to be clean and well-maintained. I’ve paid less for better but I’ve also paid more for less, albeit in much larger markets. All said, I would say that while I didn’t hate it, I’m very unlikely to ever stay here again. …
