While most aspects of our stay were excellent the fact that the staff including the person serving breakfast do not wear masks is disappointing. As of this date, the CDC still recommends wearing masks indoors. It also clearly is Hilton's official policy.
The We Carry Kevan team got stranded in Mobile because of the ice storm headed through Louisiana and Texas. We were daily trying to figure out a plan. The staff at Hampton Inn was incredible. Tammy serves an awesome breakfast, and every single front desk person working was awesome. Friday, the General Manager, treated us like royalty. This is an incredible group of people and their service is second to none. If we ever come back through we will be staying here.
I think I do a pretty good job of managing my expectations when it comes to my hotel stays. And my recent stay at this Hampton is no exception. I don't expect much from an interstate hotel, and I usually don't stay at them. But my recent trip through Mobile happened to be during several events and the majority of Hilton's were sold out. I opted for this location because of the high overall rating and because I didn't have to go out of my way to get there. My experience wasn't bad, but it didn't meet my managed expectations. The entire hotel, and especially our room, had a strong smell of deodorizer. Underneath the overcompensating deodorizing smell was the smell of cigarettes. Frankly, I thought that every Hilton was smoke-free and I only recently learned that this location has smoking options, so I take responsibility for not realizing this when I booked. That said, our room was non-smoking and yet it smelled of cigarettes. Beyond that the negatives I experienced were entirely due to the clientele. Things that you don't see at a typical Hilton property, and things that I don't think the hotel could do much about. These include people being really loud and clearly without any regard for other guests and people arguing in the hallways (plural, as I saw this multiple times). I wouldn't be surprised if people also smoked in non-smoking rooms, based on the overall behavior of the hotel guests (that I observed). I think this Hampton tries very hard, and I struggled with how to rate it. The staff was nice and, all things considered, I think they perform better than most hotels in their situation.…
Chose this location because it was less expensive than hotels closer to Mobile. However, it’s a short drive to the city and Dauphin Island. Room was clean and bed was comfy. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good, too. Hot and cold choices. Coffee and hot water are available 24/7. We would stay again.
Very nice property conveniently located next to I-10. Rooms are clean and the complimentary breakfast is good. No complaints. It’s also conveniently located near Bellingrath Gardens which is a “must-see”! I’ve stayed there several times.
