It's an old hotel. Heard a lot of hype about the bar which was disappointing compared to old New Orleans bars. Good drinks even though the bar tender gave me the wrong drink. Don't stay in the old part. We stayed in building 4 and the beds were like wooden planks. Not the usual nice Marriott mattresses. Parking can be...

Our stay at The Grand Hotel was lovely. We came for a wedding and enjoyed the hotel. The rooms are nice and ground beautiful. The food was good, but a bit overpriced. We spent one afternoon at the pool and my husband played golf. This area of the south is beautiful and so fun to see and enjoy.

We have stayed here during every season and loved it. Grounds are nice with numerous things to do. Borrow a bike and ride over to the Confederate cemetery. If you go during any holiday time they always have lovely family activities for all ages. We are looking forward to visiting again after the remodel also!

Staff and management were great! Had the chicken croissant for lunch at the restaurant which was excellent. Relaxed by the pool for awhile, pool is large and very clean with a great bar next by. Took a walk down by the boat docks and beach area. Enjoyed the firing of the cannon, which they do every day, with free refreshments...

What an amazing hotel - the grounds are unbelievable and the activities are very well planned for all types of families. The history is preserved in things like the cannon firing at sunset, which is absolutely amazing. The food is outstanding and the rooms are in the process of a much needed upgrade. The history of this hotel is absolutely...

We only got to enjoy this place for one night but were impressed enough that we penciled in a return. The staff is exceptional and most accommodating. The grounds are magnificent and perfectly maintained. This place truly has a resort feeling to it. The weak spot is that it is undergoing renovation, building by building, which is needed, so all...

What a beautiful property! We were not quite sure what to think as some have posted about musty smells in the original building vs. the newer spa building but having been there, I would say the original building did not smell musty. It smelled of history. It's an old building with a LOT of history. There is a lovely fragrance...

I was so looking forward to a business conference at this hotel! Our room and view were fine but the disappointments were: several in our group got very sick while at the resort. ( don't know if it was a virus or the food or the air or what but it was concerning that 8-10 our of 50 were very...

The Grand Hotel has it all! Great place for a family vacation. Today we've enjoyed the beach, bike riding, cane pole fishing, ping pong, watching a cannon fire from the premises, kayaking, tetherball, and badminton! We've also played Bingo and they had tea/coffee/cookies from 4-5! Would definitely recommend and the staff has been great and very accommodating! Would highly recommend...

This resort is a well-kept secret for many people. We were pleasantly surprised with our first visit to The Grand. It is a large resort with a small-town feel. The Grand has numerous things for their guests to do of all ages. The resort fee covers many amenities such as beach chairs and umbrellas, bicycles to be used on their...
