The Wakaya Club is just a little bit of paradise on earth. Total exclusivity (only 28 guests at any one time), wonderful accommodations in beautifully decorated cottages called Bures, great food and wines and all the sports you can do (golf, tennis crocquet, snorkeling, deep sea diving, and fishing. There is no noise, great private beaches and service equal to... More

If your definition of luxury consists of marble bathrooms and private butlers, then Wakaya may not be the best place for you to go (spend a comparable amount of money in a Dubai hotel and you'll probably get the glitzy glamour that you want). Wakaya represents another kind of luxury, and one that is more difficult to find! Welcome to... More

Just came back from 9 days on Wakaya in the Governor's Bure. Having read a mixed bag of reviews, I had a little trepidation, which proved completely unfounded. We usually stay at Amans or Four Seasons or rent a villa, just to give you a sense of our perspective. Wakaya is likely not for everyone. If cost or money is... More

My husband and I spent two incredible weeks in the Governor's Bure. This was our 2nd time to Wakaya, the first time almost 10 years ago. We always carried the memory of it as one of the most special times we've had, but it's hard to get to Fiji and there just never seemed like we had the time. We... More

This was the most exclusive vacation we’ve ever taken, and we’re still sad it’s over one week later. It’s also difficult to start doing things for yourself again; the staff there was just so excellent. Dining: At first we were concerned that there is only one restaurant there. But with staff trained by Nobu, Charlie Trotter and the like, we... More

We selected Wakaya for our honeymoon, and would go back again in a minute if we could. Yes, it's expensive, as other reviewers have pointed out. But we loved it. We loved the privacy and the freedom of being able to do whatever you wanted at a moments notice. We did it all - including booking the private beach where... More

Can't be beat, but you really can't spend any more than this.Wakaya really is a private retreat where you and your guest are intentionally spoiled. It is enjoyable to be asked what you want for breakfast "because we have no menu", and have to use your imagination. Take a day trip to one of the beaches and have them prepare... More

This is a VERY expensive resort and what you expect to be delivered in terms of customer service, friendliness, food and overall satisfaction should surpass no other. This was NOT the case. In our opinion Anyone looking to spend this kind of money can do much better elsewhere We are seasoned travellers and have had no cause to write a... More

We stayed at Wakaya for 11 days for our honeymoon in May. We'd just had a fabulous if hectic wedding and were looking for a piece of paradise to relax, with good food and activitities. After having done a great amount of research Wakaya seemed the place. How I regret that decision. Myself and my husband have stayed in some... More

If you like adventure and like the feeling of being at a place that few get to see, then this is the place for you. The island itself if gorgous with amazing views and on sunny days it felt like paradise. The island is filled with wildlife that you just don't see anymore roaming freely around the island. But don't... More

“We stayed in one of the one bedroom Bures and they are all equal in oceanfront beauty and decor. The bar fridge is always stocked with yummy cookies and snacks in case you are hungry after your activities! Each one has a huge lava rock outdoor shower in addition to the large indoor tub [which we never felt like using]”
