The setting was beautiful and the resort staff friendly, but the management leaves a lot to be desired. We booked 5 nights in an over water Bure online which was confirmed so we went ahead and booked our flights. Two days later we received an email from the resort saying that due to a “computer glitch”, the booking had to be altered, resulting in 3 different rooms over 5 nights. This was very stressful and unrelaxing. We received constant reminders that we had to vacate the room by 11 and the new room would be available after 3. In fact they moved us earlier but it interrupted our activities. The snorkelling and diving trips were good. Initially we thought the food was good but had gastro after a couple of days as did other guests.
Went to likuliku resort with the family over Christmas. We stayed in the over water bures for the first two nights and it was the most beautiful place I have ever stayed with the bures jutting out over the coral and goijg for early morning swims and seeing baby sharks, sting rays and what looked like sword fish. The food was suberb every single meal and the staff were the friendliest people I have ever met. They remember all of my families names and had conversations with every single one of them. They were amazing and truly spectacular and they were what made the experience. We then stayed in the deluxe rooms with a plunge pool that looked out onto the sea. We saw so many turtles and the rooms were second to none. We gave all the staff on Christmas Day sweets and even though they were working Christmas Day and away from there families, every single one of them was still kind and generous. You really do get what you pay for here and my wife and girls would love to go back. Vinaka Vakalevu to all the staff here and thank you for making our trip so memorable!…
so... i can see it's been three years since my last tripadvisor review - that's covid for you. and three years between trips is a long time. that break in time adds significance to the choice you make when weighing up where to take that next holiday. there's always a risk in any holiday destination, but after three years it's almost imperative you make the right choice. enter fiji. fiji had always been on our radar, but equally always remained several rungs down the ladder. crucially this time around we knew we could only take off for seven nights, and for that reason alone we knew we were headed somewhere south-pacific to minimise flight time. deciding on fiji as a destination is only half the battle as there are innumerable resorts and islands to choose from. once we opted for "adults only" our options narrowed quickly. likuliku stood out. there's not a great deal i can say you likely haven't already read - beautiful location, great burés and amazing food. i'd prefer to expand on something which ended up being the surprise star of our trip - the fijian staff themselves. i'd heard the saying before - fijians are the happiest people on earth. at the same time my wife and i held the thais in high esteem as being beautiful people - the balinese as well. could the fijians really be any better? this holiday was important for us insofar as time away and recharging or batteries. in our mind the resort would be the element to facilitate that - a beautiful lagoon in which to snorkel, calming grounds in which to wander etc. and those elements did deliver. but in truth it was our relationship with the staff - and indeed fijians across the board - which bought the biggest smiles to our faces. we had wanted to learn as many fijian phrases as we could and found every fijian to be willing teachers. not only were they willing, they were enthusiastic as well. and of course learning the language wherever you are in the world always makes a difference with the locals, but in fiji it felt elevated to a different level. so much so that my wife and i observed for the first time in our travelling lives that the warmth of the fijians was the highlight of our trip. never before have we ever identified the locals over the location itself. and there's great significance in this because you are so regularly interacting with them. when that interaction is so warm and inclusive it washes over you more so than the water in the lagoon or the food in the restaurant. and smiling is infectious too, so much so you realise you're not just smiling on your face but through your whole being. and whilst you deal most regularly with the food and beverage staff, we had the same interactions with anyone in house-keeping, activities, the gardeners and maintenance. and i'm sure it's likely you'd get this wherever you are in fiji, but i can only talk about likuliku. and for us the staff were incredibly professional at their jobs, managing to find a perfect line between being friendly whilst also allowing you your space. and there's clearly a resort-driven policy of the staff knowing the names of the guests by way of association with their buré number. and it works because you're always being referred to by your name, which of course makes the whole trip more personal. i will mention the food as well. this resort is quite expensive compared to most others, but i suspect a fair chunk of that expense covers the quality in their food. it is an all-inclusive resort, and i don't think i had one positive response from anyone to whom we mentioned this aspect of the holiday. but without doubt the quality of the food was superb - breakfast, lunch and dinner. breakfast was bountiful in terms of your options on the buffet and a la carte. lunch was a lighter affair, with a set entree, a choice of two options for mains and three for dessert. dinner also offered two choices for entree and mains, as well as a third main which was a shared serving for two people. there were also three options for dessert. we arrived by speedboat from denarau, which took about 45 mins. it's worth mentioning the trip can be bumpy if the wind is up and there's chop on the water - bring your medication if you're inclined towards motion sickness. you'll be serenaded by beautiful fijian voices as you arrive and your time in paradise will immediately begin.…
My wife and I spent ten nights at the Lkuliku Lagoon Resort in Fiji in celebration of our tenth anniversary. It was fun to be greeted by live music and energetic employees at the dock when we arrived by boat. Besides the obvious gorgeous Fijian scenery, the first thing we noticed was how genuinely friendly and kind the Fijian people were. Everyone we met greeted us with a heartfelt “Bula”. Overall, the resort was very nice. Our burre was spacious and clean. Housekeeping was a bit inconsistent, but generally ok. Our backyard was well kept with a great view of the lagoon and islands in the distance. The daybed and patio chairs were a great place to relax. They do fog for mosquitoes twice a day, beware. Also take note of the distance from the over water burres to reception. It’s a long walk. The food served for lunch and dinner at the only restaurant was very good and served in three to four courses. Breakfast was either ala carte or ordered off the menu. We took a few excursions with no major problems. We booked a couple’s massage at the spa on our first Monday there. It was so good we booked a second for our last day. The highlights of our days were the sunsets. Do not miss the view from Masimo’s bar. Don’t give up on the sunset as soon as it sets. The best light show came about a half hour after the sun had gone down. All this being said, there were a few things that we found out after we were there that were either not mentioned on the website or we just missed them. Only the food is included in the booking price. Only basic coffee, tea, and juices were included at breakfast. Barista coffees were an upcharge. Ice water was the only beverage included at lunch and dinner. All alcohol and soft drinks are an upcharge as well. We picked up a few bottles at duty free at the airport and brought them with us. If you’re staying more than seven days, be aware that the menus repeat themselves weekly. Book excursions early in your stay as the weather can mess up your plans. Also, the excursion descriptions are very vague. Ask questions at the activity desk, but don’t ask Jon. He didn’t know much about anything going on. We booked a private island excursion to Honeymoon Island which was very fun. Check your lunch cooler before you get on the boat. They got our drink order wrong. Not a big deal, but at this price point we expected it to be right. We also went to Cloud 9 which is a floating bar/lounge/ pizza grill in the middle of the ocean and a lot of fun. It is listed for two hours but ask the boat driver to stay longer if you want. We stayed for six hours and could have stayed longer. It was a little pricey for the boat ride, but Cloud 9 was worth it. On Friday nights the resort hosts a manager’s reception out at Masimo’s bar. There are free drinks for an hour and singing and dancing from the locals. Don’t miss. The singing is beautiful. The things I wish the resort would improve on would be the length of time spent at the restaurant. Our lunches took about and hour and a half, and dinners close to two hours. That is a lot of time spent in the same place over a ten day stay. They could also use a bit of nightly entertainment. The resort pretty much shuts down after dinner. All in all a great place for a couples romantic getaway…
From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and valued. The staff are amazing, truly. Our accommodation, a deluxe beachfront bure, was perfect, exactly as in the photos on their website. How awesome to step from our bure into the ocean, swim onto the reef to snorkel, then come back to your own personal spa, and private outdoor shower. Housekeeping were terrific and the bure was spotless. The Dining Room, with authentic architecture was beautiful, and the menus were original, varied and delicious. Sunset at the Masima Bar, out in the lagoon, should not be missed. I could go on, and on about how wonderful it all was. We could not have asked for more. Perfection for a romantic, relaxing break from the real world, to unwind and de-stress.
This resort is designed like a Fijian village and feels very authentic. We stayed in a deluxe beachfront villa and it felt very luxurious being able to take a few steps and be in the ocean. Neither of us like AC so we opened all the windows and turned on the fans. Unfortunately the villas are fairly close together so our neighbours could look in- it wasnt very private. The rooms could use a refresh but they are well deigned and spacious and the house keeping is excellent. They have an excellent chef but the food selection is limited- I always choose the vegetarian option in these situations and there wasnt one offered! We had a couples massage and the therapists were very good. the treatment was in an AC room though and I wish it had been outside. The natural beauty of the setting is hard to beat. I couldnt quit taking photos and it truly did feel like I had been to Fiji so I will have fond memories. …
This was our second trip to Likuliku and it won't be our last! Everything from the food, the snorkeling and most of all the people, was amazing. And the accomodations! We had an overwater bure, but everyone we spoke with loved their rooms. Bula!
To sum it up in one word PARADISE a beautiful resort and beautiful staff. We spent 6 nights in a delux waterfront Bure with our own plunge pool and 10 steps into the ocean. Food was amazing and cocktails spot on. Plenty to do but if you need just to relax and recharge this is the place to stay. Staff are friendly and professional I couldn’t complain about anything. You can arrive by speed boat or helicopter. We chose the 45 minute speed boat trip and we already relaxing and taking in the beautiful sites. You won’t be disappointed.
Just returned from a 4 night stay at LikuLiku, what an absolutely beautiful, serene, relaxing place. We knew it was going to be special based on the reviews and the pictures but to see it for yourself and experience the hospitality first hand…wow! We stayed in a beachfront bure so that we could swim off the beach, right outside our room…the overwater bures looked fantastic but we decided not for us as we weren’t keen on climbing down the stairs and jumping into the deeper waters (I like to touch the bottom!) but anywhere you swim is the most cleanest, amazing water, we didn’t bother swimming in the pool the whole time we were there as the ocean was too appealing! The food, the staff, the activities, the spa (massages wow!) all were fantastic! We visited for our wedding anniversary and the whole team made us feel very welcome and like family, it was very sad to say goodbye to them but we will definitely be back to this beautiful, peaceful slice of heaven. Thank you LikuLiku for a memorable, amazing holiday we shall never forget, Vinaka vakalevu…until next time ❤️…
We came here for our honeymoon and... goodness. The few things I was a bit uneasy about before arriving turned out to be non-issues. I was incredulous of the menu-based dining for 3 meals a day in the same restaurant, but even I (a picky eater and by no means a foodie) had my taste buds awakened: lots of fresh fish available for lunch and dinner, and I still occasionally daydream about the pancakes at breakfast. Everything fresh as can be, nothing processed. How does Likuliku obtain the freshest of everything despite being isolated on a small island? The restaurant ended up being a fun place where we got to a know a few other couples and enjoyed bumping into them; I never got sick of it, and it wasn't slow or anything. The bures, buildings, and grounds are all very clean--spotless despite being closed for a couple years during COVID. Beautiful beach, relaxing pool, tranquil environment. The activities are awesome and very reasonably priced. We took a surf-site trip to watch surfing and went fishing (the wind kept the fish away our day, but the days before and after us caught Mahi Mahi). Plenty of snorkeling on the reefs right off the beach, too. There's a mile-or-so hiking trail with some real elevation changes and good views behind the resort area. We also held Malolo the iguana during an info session about the resort's iguana restoration efforts. I do not know how the staff members manage to be so consistently kind, warm, and pleasant--I get that hospitality is their job, but still, it's impressive. In a first for me, I missed a couple of staff members once we left (Illi in the activities shack and Eleanor in the restaurant, in particular). We took South Sea Cruises from Nadi to Likuliku, and it was a beautiful "welcome" to Fiji, given that we cruised through several islands and resorts on the way to Likuliku. I barely noticed the 2-hour travel time. For our return trip, we made friends with another couple at the resort and split a sea taxi back to Nadi. The front desk staff made booking that return trip easy. The helicopter looked cool, but wasn't necessary. Watch out Four Seasons! You better up your game!…
