We were looking for a nice tropical destination for our honeymoon and struck the jackpot!! Right from the initial welcome song and tribal escort to the heartfelt goodbye song on the beach we were blown away by the hospitality of each and every staff member on the island. Literally nothing was too much trouble at any stage during our stay....

Matamanoa Island Resort sits on a beautiful little old volcanic outcrop surrounded by a coral reef teeming with marine life. Snorkeling, SCUBA, Fishing, Sailing, Canoeing and. of course, Sunbathing are at your behest daily. From the glorious, musical welcome on the beach through a huge variety of fun activities to the Native dress beach farewell singing Isa Lei, there's more...

We stayed here for my 30th Birthday, and it was one of the greatest experiences of our lives. And that's saying a lot as we travel often! What makes Matamanoa resort so unique is that it is the only hotel on a tiny island. Most island resorts in Fiji is on islands with at least one other hotel. Here you...

Lovely island and villas, private pool and day bed was fantastic! Staff were very friendly and the resort was clean and tidy. Unfortunately the food was at best terrible!! (The lobster Bisque tasted like the sloppy bait bucket from a fishing trip!!) Tried pretty much everything on the menu in 7 days and some was simply inedible!! Honestly one of...

Amazing place if you want a complete chill & relax. Staff are mostly superb & very friendly. Beach Burre is great accommodation , very well appointed, private plunge pool & covered day bed outside excellent. The snorkelling is fabulous & trips available every day to different dive sites & other islands. All in a fabulous place to stay & relax.

Bure Rooms were large with a separate living area and a patio with a dipping pool. We had an ocean front bure and really enjoyed it. The bed was very comfortable. All the staff there was very nice and helpful. We stayed three nights there and I was initially worried we would get bored...but..the resort had activities scheduled throughout the...

My wife and I stayed to Matamanoa on our honeymoon in March this year. We got the warmest welcome on reaching the hotel and were surprised to see personlised hand carved name plates on reaching the room. The hotel and it's staff has very high standards. The location is exquisite and it truly feels like you are in paradise. The...

There is plenty on offer at Matamanoa. After taking the South Seas Cruise boat out to the island the Matamanoa Boat was waiting to transport us to the island. A warm welcome waited and we were impressed with our Beach Front Bure. The Bure looked out to the South East and had its own plunge pool which was a hit...

My parenter and I stayed on Matamanoa for 5 nights. Started in the garden unit whilst busy doing activities, then upgrade to a bungalow for private romantic time. The bungalow made you really feel like you were living in a hut by the ocean beautiful and peaceful. Location stunning and the stuff friendly and helpful.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Matamanoa Island rated 4 star, is an intimate and secluded, adults only Fijian Resort. We are set in the beautiful Mamanuca Islands approximately 30 kilometers west of Nadi International Airport - experience a true gift of nature. The Island boasts a volcanic cone jutting out of the azure waters of this unspoiled marine sanctuary. Clad with native bush and palm trees, the brilliance of the vegetation contrasts magnificently with the white curved sandy beaches and pristine coral reefs. Combined with nature, we have created a haven for those who want to relinquish the pressures of a busy lifestyle. This is for those who dream of peace and tranquility. To achieve this special atmosphere, Matamanoa Island Resort has adopted a year round policy of not permitting day-trippers or children under the age of 16 years. ... more   less
