We stayed in a beach front bure for 3 days / 2 nights in April 2017 and wish we could have stayed longer! When booking we had some reservations with regards to the price of the accommodation but having stayed there we think it was worth every penny. The island is absolutely stunning - beautiful white sand and clear blue...

Everything about this place oozed "relaxation". Go with the beach villas and you cant go wrong. Snorkel right off the beach and the whole island has a wonderful reef for diving, especially the north side (closest point the Castaway film island). The resort has a great team with most being from the local village on the next island. The massage...

We arrived on Matamanoa via Helicopter and from the sky this place looks spectacular. Crystal clear blue waters and white sandy beaches. On arrival we were greeted with a complimentary drink and a very warm Fijian welcome. Our beach Bure for 5 nights was perfect, it had a little plunge pool and some steps down onto the beach. The Bure...

Over 40 years ago my wife, as a school girl, did a project on Fiji. As part of the project she wrote to the Fijian Hign Commission and was delighted when they sent her a shed load of information and photographs. Her love of this amazing part of the world was fostered at this juncture and has been on her bucket...

Visited this resort in February for 6 amazing nights. Can not say enough great things about the staff-all beautiful people. The food was amazing, the room was amazing, the beach was amazing. Thanks Matamanoa for an incredible holiday. Will definitely visit again. Five Stars.

What can I say about this resort? Matamanoa Resort is literally heaven on earth. From the moment you approach this little haven you are greeted with happy smiling faces and singing voices. A true Fijian welcome! The diameter of the island is about a 5 minute walk and you could easily kayak around the entire island. The island is idyllic...

My friend and I started off our tour of Fiji by staying here for 5 nights. Upon arrival we were greeted with such friendliness that when it came to us leaving we genuinely didn't want to. It really is beautiful. We did the afternoon tour to Castaway Island and had the chance to hear about the island and carry out...

We spent 4 nights at Matamanoa at the end of a strenuous two week visit to New Zealand. It was the perfect way to relax. We had a very private, ocean front cottage with a plunge pool in front. We snorkeled right off our own beach but also went on the snorkel boat several times. Once you get past the...

It's truly is paradise, we flew in by helicopter (the boat transfer is equally as beautiful we just wanted to get there faster). Stayed in a Bure which was absolutely gorgeous, big comfy bed, sofa, modern bathroom, fridge, plunge pool and day bed outside plus a stunning view of the ocean. Very small thing to mention, there's lots of palm...

Travelled to Matamanoa Island Resort and it was amazing! Stayed in a beach Villa that was great. People and staff are amazing and bend over backwards for all guests. We got the breakfast dinner package for food but i would recommend getting lunch as well. Not really any other options unless you bring your own from the mainland. Works out...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Matamanoa Island rated 4 star, is an intimate and secluded, adults only Fijian Resort. We are set in the beautiful Mamanuca Islands approximately 30 kilometers west of Nadi International Airport - experience a true gift of nature. The Island boasts a volcanic cone jutting out of the azure waters of this unspoiled marine sanctuary. Clad with native bush and palm trees, the brilliance of the vegetation contrasts magnificently with the white curved sandy beaches and pristine coral reefs. Combined with nature, we have created a haven for those who want to relinquish the pressures of a busy lifestyle. This is for those who dream of peace and tranquility. To achieve this special atmosphere, Matamanoa Island Resort has adopted a year round policy of not permitting day-trippers or children under the age of 16 years. ... more   less
