The staff are rude and unhelpful. Do not expect good service. This made my travels difficult when visiting this city for the first time.i decided to find another hotel as soon as I could. Would not recommend this hotel.

The service here is absolutely terrible. The rudest, most unhelpful staff. Trying to get around a city that I don't know/can't speak the language of was made 100000 times more difficult due to the neglectful, disrespectful and uncaring nature of the staff. They had no interest in helping me or making my stay enjoyable even when I was polite, clear...

The good part: the location is excellent, near a levily shopping road. You are within walking distance to huge central sub stations Nanjing Road (East) and People's Square and the world-famous Bund promenade! The breakfast ist not worth mentioning: the room where it is offered is tiny and the choice less than modest. But there are enough alternatives nearby. But...

Stayed in Single room. Building and lobby looks kind of old ancient hotel. Rooms was better, they are currently refurbishing the older rooms. Pretty safe as you need to tap key card in lift to access. Single room is super tiny, 2 Steps from the door to your right is the small toilet, in front is small writing table and...

If you like Nanjing pedestrian street, this is a great hotel. If you don't like it you can still stay, and walk over to use Qufu St station. You can walk to quite a few stations and have a great choice of lines. The price is really good, and the rooms are fine, with kettle, tv, and the first bath...

Outstanding location - bang in the middle of Nanjing Road with all its buzz. Walk down 10 minutes to the Bund. Its an old building ( historical maybe) - built in 1835 - as mentioned but the rooms had their nice modern touch. The staff spoke halting English but you can communicate. However they were dour and asking them for...

Take note: the single rooms are tiny, the double rooms are small, the TWIN ROOMS ARE GREAT. We paid a little bit more for a deluxe twin and it was SUPERB value. The location is simply the best - right on Nanjing rd East, the heart of Shanghai. (the entrance is around the corner). it is about a 5 min+...

The hotel was in a great location close to the main shopping street, shops, restaurants and food courts. The Nanjing Road East Station was about a 10 minute walk and the Bund around 15 to 20 minutes. The room while small was comfortable with a very good bathroom, particularly the shower. The room had air conditioning, an essential in this...

I stayed five nights in a standard single room. The room was very small, but was clean and had everything I needed, The air-con worked well, which is essential as Shanghai can get hot and muggy. There was plenty of hot water and the cable TV worked well. The wifi would not work in my room, but I was able...

We the subway to this hotel rather than a taxi which would have cost too much money. The room was small but it was comfortable enough. Bed comfortable and good bathroom. We had breakfast but as we were vegans we couldn't eat too much as there was egg and yoghurt. We stayed 3 nights which was good, we could walk...

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
