The hotel entrance is hidden from view and unusual to find but I found the hotel clean and pleasant. It was quite close to the Bund and restaurants. Room was more spacious than others in Shanghai in which I have stayed. Had wifi in room.

I don't bad smell and smoke in the hotel. But the room is cleaned and comfort. It is a 5 min to The Bund and 15 min to East Nanjing Road Metro Station and shopping street. I can't connect the internet via Wi-Fi, so bad.

The only thing that is great with this hotel is just the location. It is a 5 minute walk to The Bund. The room is barely acceptable as a business hotel. The bed sheets are not immaculately clean and the toilet has seen better days. The morning breakfast buffet consisted of limited choices. Front desk staff had a hard time...

I booked this hotel for a four day business trip with some college. The room is dirty : hair on the floor, on the towels... The carpet is also disgusting, do not walk bear foot.... The Internet connection is lame.... A joke in a "business" hotel in the middle of the Bund !! The corridors always smell the tobacco and...

Terrible hotel...the worst one. Internet didnt work. Staff was so nasty. Hotel was old. Breakfast if you could call it that way. Bed terrible, like a rock. The view from the window of the room was directly to the garbage. They hardly give you toilet paper...we just want to leave shanghai soon...we didnt feel safe at all...

We choose the Baron Hotel to live near the bund for few days. It shows 4 Stars and the price was reasonable. When we arrived we found out the stars was selfgiven. Nobody from the staff speaks a word english. The food was only chinese and bought from the street vendors. The room itself was somehow like in the prison. The...

This hotel is hard to rate as I have a different experience each time I stay there. Two years ago it was great. Last year I got a room with very bad mildew. This years visit, nothing special but the room was acceptable. I go here because, although it's hard to find at first, once you know where it is,...

I have totally forgotten to write this review. I stayed here in 2013. Yes, 2 years ago. But I just wanted to say, this hotel was really cheap, but I was really happy with the cleanliness of the hotel and the room. As you know, it's very difficult to find somewhere cheap but clean in China. I highly recommend this...

Although it's not terribly descriptive, everything about this hotel was ok. Good if you just want a decent place to sleep, so it did what I needed it to. Best thing about this hotel is its location - very close to the Bund and the subway, which I used extensively. By my standards this is a 2.5 to 3 star...

The customer service at this hotel is extremely horrible!!! Our train ticket agent has tried to deliver our train tickets to the hotel multiple times but they refused to accept on our behalf. We have called & pleaded with them over the phone but no luck. Our business train trip is immediately within the hour after checking into the hotel...

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
