Wonderful location at walking distance to Peoples Square and Nanjing street. Good hotel with good service. A prompt reception team to assist. vending machines for food and drinks in lobby besides an exchange ATM machine. Convenience Stores opposite to the Hotel and 5 mins walk to some good restaurants. Drawback is if you are late for breakfast there is very...

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel. Our room was nice, spacious, had a mini fridge, complimentary water, and a great shower. Front desk spoke enough English for us Westerners to get by. Also, a very short walk to People's Square and Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street (shopping). Would definitely come back.

I stayed only 1 night at Kingtown. It's on the red line and within a quick metro ride to the city center. The location is good, however, don't expect any high-end shopping or restaurants within walking distance. While the room was quite small, it was reasonably clean. There was a lot of noise though especially at night. My room was...

We arrived at our hotel and quickly got our room key, surprisingly the receptionist could speak good English and was friendly enough. As soon as we opened the door (Room 411) the smell of damp and mould hit us - the walls of the room were mouldy, flaking and badly repaired. The roof was cracked and mouldy and the entire...

We're a couple from NZ who have been living in China for a couple of years. This place is great if you want a central location, quick walk to Subway station, short walk to Nanjing Road shopping/Bund areas. The breakfast was adequate - had bacon, eggs, plus Chinese dishes. It's a little hidden off the main road and we walked...

I stayed here for a night, got a double room on the 3rd floor. The lifts were playing up, so ended up having to take the service staircase, which was covered in piles of dirty sheets, on arriving in the corridor to my room I had to pick my way through another huge pile of dirty sheets (this was at...

the best of this place are the breakfast and location. 5 minutes walk from people's square, 24hrs market 1 minute walk, near metro station, safe and good place at night. Was clean enough, service was good, front desk will be better speaking more english... almost cero english, but they will do their best to communicate with you. At our arrival...

We stayed in this hotel for five nights and found it to be the perfect place to be based for visiting Shanghai. It is a short walk to People's Square, close to the Metro and close to good restaurants. The hotel however is poorly cleaned, poorly run and needs refurbishment but the price reflects the standard. A short stay would...

We stayed for only one night pre-cruise. We were concerned by some of the previous reviews but found the hotel to be very good. We had no problems with cards under the door etc as previous reviewers had mentioned. Our room was spacious with a good view of the river. The room was clean with a comfortable queen bed. There...
