This hotel is Fudan University's equivalent of Peking University's Zhongguanyuan Global Village. Just like my review of the latter, the following apply verbatim to Fuxuan Hotel: (i) The most intolerable aspect is that every room, every corridor, every nook and cranny in the hotel now reek of cigarettes. Apparently, they don't separate their rooms for smokers and non-smokers --- a...

I have stayed here before so I knew roughly what to expect. It's a hotel for trainees attending courses delivered by Fudan University. From that perspective therefore, it is a decent average hotel. The wifi was really iffy, and so was the breakfast. On the other hand, a major plus is that the Line 10 subway is close by.

That's the word that comes to mind when I think of this hotel. Guests can smoke indoors so naturally the whole place smells like an ashtray. The rooms are ok, but very humid. I tried for a whole week to dry clothes on the hanger in the room and they simply wouldn't. The breakfast was ok but very crowded and...

I've stayed at this hotel about six times over the past five years and each year it gets a little worse. The hotel is less than 10 years old, but looks like it has at least 20 years of wear and tear. Carpets in the room are stained; walls have no decoration on them; rooms and hallways smell like smoke....

Strictly okay. Some good features: air conditioning and breakfast. The staff is helpful but almost none speaks English well. The internet is absolutely terrible. The beds are uncomfortable. I would try somewhere else.

This hotel is just fine for a business trip at Fudan University. It has all the basics covered and the staff are helpful and friendly. I found it to be clean and had everything I needed for my stay. The main drawback for me is the very weak wifi which was frustrating, but if one is not staying in the...

The room was nice, recently-renovated and clean, but the hallways reeked of disinfectant and the staff was standoffish. The food was disgusting and the dining room was sad. Excruciatingly slow internet (ethernet -- no wifi) in the rooms and no internet available anywhere else. While my boyfriend worked, I walked around the neighborhood, which was depressing and stank of raw...

I stayed a week in order to be near Fudan University, where I conducted business. The rooms are large, clear and clean (linen, etc...) but my carpet was full of dark traces and various spots...not very inviting. Furthermore, the bed is very firm... I suppose this is a deliberate choice, but I had never slept on such a hard bed....

The hotel is a decent option if you want a reasonably priced hotel in Shanghai. Or want to be near to Fudan University. There is no wifi in the rooms and the Ethernet is slow or non-existent. There is Internet in the lobby, though not brilliant. Breakfasts are some of the worst food I have ever eaten in Asia. However...

Located on the campus of Fudan University, the hotel is part of the School of Journalism. Rooms are clean and comfortable and staff are not overly friendly but helpful when you need them. No wifi in rooms but in the lobby. Conveniently located near Line 10 on the Subway and near plenty of restaurants and shops.

Thank Joshua M

“I recommend a room in the 10th floor or so. Colleagues also liked higher floor numbers and were impressed. In case that the elevators are overused, you may also use the service elevator ;)”
