DO NOT BOOK THIS HOSTEL. I checked in this hostel on june 18th, put my belongings inside the locker of my dorm and locked it before going out. Returned a few hours later: the locker was still closed but my passport and money were missing. I don't know who stole my stuff, someone from the staff who had the key...

We stayed in a private double room for 4 nights. The room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. The staff at reception were helpful. The location is fantastic as it is only 2 minutes walk from the metro station and East Nanjing Road. It is approximately 10 minutes walk to the Bund which is a must see spot...

I stayed there with a friend for 2 nights. We were in a 6 beds room on the 3rd floor. It was very clean, confortable bed but quite small, not convenient for big luggage. The bathrooms are okay, very clean too. There is free wifi, but we did not receive it in our room and it was not always working....

6 bed dorm was cramped with little space for luggage and people. Common area was ok, but lacked any sense of community. Bath rooms were separate and individual rather than the usual row of showers which made a nice change. Location is only saving near to metro and major sights all in walking distance.

We were here for 2 nights in a mixed dorm. The location is awesome. You are right near the metro and walking distances from a lot of tourist attractions. The room was bigger than we thought and the bathroom was attached. Both bathroom and room were clean. We were on the 5th floor and the cleaners seemed to only clean...

This hostel has a very friendly atmosphere, where it's really easy to meet fellow travelers. As other reviewers have mentioned, the location is fantastic. The actual dorm rooms are very clean but nothing special, and feel a little crowded. But hey, this is Shanghai! I've stayed here twice already, and I'll probably stay again.

I was there for 3 nights. It was in the in the best location very close to metro station and Nanjing rd. which is very convenience. The staff barely speaks english. I got a twin private room with a bathroom the room itself was not so clean but the bedding is nice enough.

Good hostel but too many beds in the rooms. Id pay more for more space. Dont get me wrong, i still rate it as very good with top unbeatable location. I also ate food here in the restaurant. Does the job.

I've been in this hostel in February 2015 for 3 nights. The dormitory is cheap for the price of Shanghai and the hostel position is perfect, in the city center, near Nanjing Road and the metro station. The hostel is quite clean, both rooms and bathrooms. There is not so much shared bathrooms and they aren't very nice but small....

You could stay here just for the location itself, you can't beat it. In addition, the staff was helpful and kind (helped us arrange a hostel on mt. Huangshan by phone) and kept our luggage for that trip, although for a small amount of money which I thought in the end we could've gotten for free since we were staying...

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
