The Hotel is in a decent location, but the walls are very thin and many people seem to come and go throughout the night. Also, there is cigarette smoking allowed throughout the hotel. We were placed on a non-smoking floor, but smoke came into our...More
This hotel is a good choice if you have business in the area which is otherwise a residential area with quite a few local, Japanese and western bars/restaurants nearby due to being a popular area for long-stay foreigners, otherwise it's a 15-20 min walk to...More

The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same
quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
