Well worth paying the extra to stay in the executive rooms, which are really nice. The exec lounge gives good value for money and great place to discuss business with clients and colleagues. Staff are extremely friendly and there's a great bar on the 39th floor with live music.

Excellent location, I will give you that. I stay 200+ nights a year so I know my hotels. This is a very aged property but still charges similar prices to newer hotels around the area. The executive lounge closes at 9 pm vs. 11 pm at most executive lounges, and the computers there and the business center (which closes at... More

The Hilton Shanghai is superbly located in the French Quarter and the facilities and service are excellent. The executive club is far superior to any other Hilton we have been in throughout the world.

Excellent location. Breakfast buffet is very good and lots of options around the hotel for dinner. Rooms are clean and up to Hilton standards we are used to have. Recommend it for business travelers. Jian Temple has a mall behind and a great supermarket with imported goods. The japonese restaurants in the mall are good.

Was expecting a bit more for a Hilton. The room I got was at a corner and quite small, not as advertised. The check in / check out procedure took forever! Got to try all restaurants. The Italian was a big disappointment - it is more of a bistro quality as opposed to fine dining - very poor choice on... More

My husband and I have stayed at the Hilton Shanghai on Hua Shan Road on many occasions. There are many reasons we choose this Hotel: The location is great, standing outside the hotel, if you go to the right, within ten minutes you hit lots of bars and restaurants offering food choices of western, Spanish, thai, indian. Was on a 5 day business trip and I have to say this was THE best Hilton I've ever stayed at and I've stayed in a few over the years. It was my 4th time staying at this hotel. Very good service at front desk, restaurant and Spa. Breakfast buffet has enough different selections. The room is clean enough. Location is good. Restaurants/coffee shops are 10-15 mins foot distance away from hotel.

Not bad for the price. It was a little older but the facilities were good. I liked their fitness center and pool. Club level room is definitely worth the extra! Staying in Jing'an

Neighbourhood Profile
Jing'an
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
