Fantastic hotel in a great location. Staff very attentive throughout. 5 star luxury with a family feel. Lounge is excellent and views from the restaurant do not disappoint. Spa was one of the best I've been to, expensive but worth it. Well worth it

A shame that I can't give more than five stars for this absolutely impeccable hotel. Everything was perfect. From reception to housekeeping to management and the staff at the Fairmont Gold lounge, I never encountered anything below perfect service. Which is not to say stuffy or affected -- they were genuinely warm and cared about making their guests as comfortable...

I chose this iconic hotel to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary as a surprise for my wife and had a fantastic stay. The suite was stylish, spacious and comfortable with a huge bathroom and separate dressing room area. We stayed on the Gold floor in the Peace Hotel, a Fairmont property. Gold floor (and all) staff were helpful, friendly and had inside tips on places to visit. Since most cab drivers don't speak English, the concierge staff printed cards with Chinese translations of many of our destinations to use with cabs--hugely helpful. The free breakfasts and evening snacks...

We have a nice stay for CNY. We stay in big room in executive floor. The staff was really professional and helpful. Just the food in lounge was average ( breakfast have no "a la carte menu", the wine at evening was not good) for a 5 stars hotel compare to others hotels in shanghai. Except that everything was fine.

We stayed a weekend in Fairmont Peace Hotel. We are from Shanghai and know the history of the hotel well, but we have not been to the hotel since it joined Fairmont hotel chain in 2010. We tried Saturday lunch and the sea bass was amazing and it was delivered by the hotel's chief chef. We also got the best...

have been to the Peace Hotel a lot of times- always stay with a smile and leave with one. Outstanding interiour, absolutl clean, absolut perfect. Lobby, corridors, like good old Shanghai. Still have at some places the orignal deco, e.g. the green tiles at the stairs / elevaors. Love the rooms. Staff is best in China. Must see.

China is an interesting place. This was my first trip to mainland China and it was cold outside, even for a Canadian (-5c). I can't rate this hotel enough; after a three week business trip in Asia, and arriving into China in the coldest snap for 60 years, staying at the Fairmont hotel was akin to being wrapped in a cashmere duvet and being plonked with a cup of tea in front of a log fire. Staying in The Bund

Neighbourhood Profile
The Bund
While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai International Settlement run by the British and Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has endured over time and is now found in the five-star hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive restaurants that can be found within the historic buildings. A cultural center has built up away from the water and some of Shanghai’s best art galleries and museums are housed close to the Bund. Nighttime views of Pudong and the rest of the city also make for a great backdrop at the many rooftop clubs.
