I rated the hotel 4-points based on value and location. There are a lot of newer and nicer hotels in the area but all more expensive. I paid extra to get a park view room - a single king bed room. My room was on the 6th floor overlooking the People's Square. The windows would actually open - a rare...

This hotel was a hero when we needed saving! Our flight from Beijing was delayed 3 hours causing us to miss the check in time of our overbooked hotel. Our amazing support rep at Expedia called several hotels in this area (close to the Bund) and the Pacific Hotel was only hotel willing to accommodate a 3am check-in. They gave...

This century-old hotel, remodeled just over a decade ago, is quaint, tastefully decorated and located smack in the center of Shanghai city. The beds are incredibly comfy, the staff professional and helpful and the price just right! We could walk to all the famous sights in Shanghai: the Bund, Peoples' Square and Park, fabulous museums and the famous kilometer-long pedestrian...

The Pacific Hotel is a great place to stay if you have want a place to stay for business, shopping and sight seeing. The Pacific Hotel is on the famous Nanjing street and only a one minute walk to the People's Park. The Pacific has good service, good security and priced very competitive.

Stayed here for 3 days to have a quick look around Shanghai. It's a little dated but must have been a great building in its hay day, beautiful decor, marble etc and Italian styling. It's clean and comfortable, nice and quiet even though busy park across the street. It's a great location to see the sight a of Shanghai at...

Very close to shopping, peoples square, exhibition of urban development and shanghai museum. Cleanliness is ok but the whole place good do with a solid scrub. Staff were friendly but no one understood English. I didn't expect they would and nor should they have to but if you want clear, quick and concise interaction you wont find that here. For...

This is not a 5 star hotel and you should be able to tell that from the price! It is an older hotel but still a great place t stay. It has a fantastic location. It is directly across from People's Square and the metro that will take you everywhere. It is walking distance from the Nanjing Road shopping district...

Comfortable clean room in historic building. There's nothing especially great about the room, equally there was nothing wrong with it and I have no complaints whatsoever. The building is a heritage historic building with lots of original features, which for me made it a very interesting place to stay. Its very well located for Nanjing Road, Renmin Park and the...

Nice place to stay, clean and organized, staff don't speak flaunt English but they are trying to manage, location wise is perfect as it's in people's square (downtown) and in the front of it metro entrance so you can easily go to any location.

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
