Horrible hotel, double charge and still have not refunded me. The case dragged till now and still unresolved. Have to be very careful, I only sign a 500 cny deposit but when I received my bank statement, I saw a 3707 cny transaction! I did not sign anything like that!

The room is big, we have separate space for work and sleep, but the breakfast don't have much choice of food, and seems it has been cooked for few days and serving for whole week. Between, when I took taxi ther, the driver told me this hotel have long history, it is old and was so famous in Shanghai. I...

Geographically, the location is pretty good - my main reason for choosing this hotel - close to the famous NanJingRoad walking street, 15-20 minutes walk to Yu Garden and the Bund. But hotel itself is a few blocks away from the subway in the middle of some run down dated residential neighborhood. And the worst part is that the room...

The hotel has big and spacious rooms. View from our room was good, overlooking the town of Shanghai. This being my first visit to Shanghai, places of interest were walking distance, even the Hoho bus stops were very close by. Service was great.

Benjamin, the manager was very accommodating and helpful. The staff was also on their game. Unfortunately there is only so much one can do with an older property. The lobby area is basically derelict in several areas. Not the most inviting welcoming area, luggage etc piled just inside the entry. Breakfast has both Chinese & Western offerings at a buffet...

This was my first visit to Shanghai and I wanted to stay in the Bund area and decided to stay here because of the price. The hotel is very outdated and the staff seemed rude. I check in around 5 p.m. and there were 3 people at front desk and none of them greeted us and no one had a...

Room was spacious for the price we paid. Good for couples with kids. Location is safe. A walking distance to nanjing Rd and the bund, maybe 20 mins. Not easy to get a taxi and we have to go main road to catch one. Staffs are not helpful. They can speak a bit of English. Hotel is value for money...

This hotel is a close walking distance to the Bund and Nanjing Rd., perfect for sightseeing, eating nearby and shopping. There are loads of street food and market offerings right outside the hotel. Hotel itself is dated, staff have limited understanding of English language, i.e. confirmed our taxi information 3 times then had issues understanding if we were discussing AM...

I had a suite but was disappointed by the condition of the rooms and the bathroom. it needs a lot of renovations. The Bund and Nanjing Rd are just a few blocks away, was the reason I chose this hotel.

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
