Beds are supple and not saggy. Carpet inside of the room is amazing to walk on -- so soft! Bathroom is amazing. Breakfast buffet is great with all kinds of selections from western to local Shanghai flavors. Front desks are accommodating. We forgot something in the fridge when checking out and the service person carried it out to the lobby... More

This place is dreadful. We booked a double room and were given a twin. Totally unacceptable. Why questioned they said we could pay an extra 400 dollars to upgrade to a room with a double room. Despite the website claiming that English wad spoken by the staff I saw no evidence of this. My wife is Chinese and when we... More

Okay back again out of convenience and lack of planning from my side. Stayed 4 nights, the girl at reception tried to book me into a smoking room, I had to hall myself all the way down and demand a non smoking room, she wanted to freshen up the smoking room, can you believe that. The hotel now allows smoking... More

I had a very nice room, quiet, welll-equipped and with a fantastic view. Breakfast is ok but not more, the bar is in the lounge with a staff that can't mix and every night the same loud pop-awards-video full blast on a large screen. Still - a nice hotel.

The Longemont Shanghai was my favorite of the four hotels at which I stayed during my trip. It was very clean and rather luxurious. Wonderful city view from my 36th floor room. Good breakfast buffet, very courteous, professional staff. Only negative was the very limited complimentary bottled water (two 330 ml bottles per day).

Shanghai was at the end of our 2-week tour of China. Rooms at the Longemont were large with very comfortable beds and well appointed bathroom. It provided a good night sleep before a long flight back to the US. The arrangement of furniture inside the room limited movement of guests, with a couple of spaces completely wasted in the corners.... More

Stayed here for 2 nights in August 2016. Gorgeous room with amazing view of Shanghai. Bathroom was incredible - top of the line fixtures and decorated beautifully. Staff was very friendly to this non-Chinese speaking foreigner. The breakfast buffet was huge and delicious. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a nice place in Shanghai.

Comfortable enough for staying in Shanghai for business and pleasure. I am not sure for the price, but what I understand the Shinghai is not very cheap at all, so obviously if you need uper luxury you can choose European chain hotels but this one can provide you everything what probably you would need.

A very nice mid range hotel for family and business travellers alike, the USP of this property is its excellent location-right on the South North elevated highway. This is very close to the downtown area and also the Bund not to metion the various offices in the business district. The rooms are large with modern amenities ,although you can sense... More

Overall there are some good and some what disappointing feeling here. Let's start with good first. Two years ago, my friends and I got robbed by a gang in Shanghai, near the bund. We returned to the hotel. Talked to deputy night manager. He was very helpful. The police was called. One of the hotel staff went with us to... More

Staying in Zhongshan Park

Neighbourhood Profile
Zhongshan Park
The residential and commercial areas around the beautiful grounds of Zhongshan Park have never been considered particularly fashionable by a majority of Shanghai’s foreign residents, but plenty of expats do choose to live here. The park itself is a huge draw, providing a pocket of serenity in the middle of the metropolis. The area has its share of trendy shops with wares that can’t be found elsewhere, delicious restaurants with food ranging from fancy to affordable, and great hidden bars. Rents are also cheaper here than in other neighborhoods with the same conveniences. Aside from the obvious attractions, with its neighborhood fix-anything shops and pop-up street stalls that sell anything you need, you’ll never sacrifice Western comforts.
