The hotel is very well located. Just close to everything you want to see (considering of course the fact that Shanghai is juste huge). I had a double standard room: very clean, bed extremely comfortable, bathroom simply immaculate. A plu: the walk-in wardrobe and the newspaper for free in the morning. I had my clothes washed: the service is very...

We had read the reviews on TA and were excited to stay at the Renaissance. The location was good but the service was very disappointing. Maybe I have been spoiled by some of the other hotels I have stayed at recently, but I expected more from the Renaissance...not just because of the hotel's reputation but also because I am a...

Visit Shanghai regularly and try different hotels each time, so first time here. We checked in at lunch time and our room was not ready. However we was given a free drinks voucher and then only had to wait 20 minuets before our room was free. As you would expect for a Renaissance hotel, the room was clean, good size...

We stayed May 15th and 17th. Very prompt and warm service at check-in. The room was large and very clean with a glass window in the bathroom (w. drop down screen) that allowed for a warm night time bath with a great view of the Shanghai skyline. Good service at checkout too with a prompt wakeup call and our 6,15AM...

on top of the hotel there is an open air lounge-bar with a perfect view. Good location neat Yu Yuan Garden, one of the prettiest but overcrowded places in Shanghai. The bar is JZ-Latino, good for Latino dances fans!

The location is pretty good being 50m away from Line 10 on the metro. From there you can get anywhere including direct to Hongqiao or Pudong airport . The well known Yu Yuan Gardens and shopping area is right next door, however the crowds now are so darn crazy I personally would stay clear. My wife was pickpocketed there a...

The hotel was located in a great spot, very close to Yu Yuen and within walking distance of The Bund and several bus stops. I also very much appreciated the help of the concierge, Morgan. Overall the room was nice and the staff was friendly. It was a great place to stay!

This has got to be one of the best locations in Shanghai. The view of the city from the concierge lounge is breath taking. The gym and pool are perfect for both the business travel and vacation. The Latino bar on the top floor is brimming with live music and fun every night of the week. Taxi to most anywhere...

Having previously stayed at the Ritz in Pudong, my expectations for hotels in Shanghai were set pretty high. The Renaissance really delivered, and I highly recommend this hotel. The location is excellent - easy walking distance to the Bund, and heaps of markets. The lobby is stunning, and we were warmly welcomed with a lovely drink. The rooms are plush,...

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
