My girlfriend and I started and ended our trip at hotel Cortez Azul and have nothing but great things to say. We got there very late on the first night and someone was there waiting for us. The next morning I was talking to Luis about how a large car rental company deceived us online and ended up charging us...

Hotel Cortez Azul is a very nice place to stay. Whether its for a short stay or extended. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting, the owner Luis and his staff greet you with a warm smile. Staff also go out of their way to assist with any needs you have. Whether it be directions to the market, area attractions...

I arrived for the first time in Alajuela, Costa Rica on May 17th. Now it is June 4th and I have been staying at the Hotel Cortez Azul since the first night of my arrival. The cost of the room is inexpensive but the experience I have had here is priceless. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the owner...

I was referred here by the hostel next door since that hostel was completely booked. I paid $12 for my dorm for the night and the lady at the front desk was very friendly and let me go ahead and check in even though their check in is at 2pm (I was there around 11am). She recommended a great place...

We stayed here for two nights, which was fine. We payed $22,50 for a double private room with shared bathroom. Room was clean, but nothing special. Bathroom is a bit old, tiles coming loose etc., but was fairly clean. Cannot say much about breakfast, except be there early. First day, I had the last milk with cereal (no fruit left,...

We were not given the room that we reserved because they rented it to someone else before we got there. We were given a smaller room with one uncomfortable double bed. Our service dogs were made to feel unwelcome by the night shift person even though they advertize to accept pets. They locked the front doors so no one could...

a hostel very close to the airport, with a great price and a great staff. Luis, the manager even recommended a clinic for medicine and a great little restaurant. I would definitely recommend to someone who does not want to deal with the hustle and bustle of San Jose.
