Composed of only four casitas, this lodge is nestled in the hills above Alajuela. Beautifully landscaped, you feel as if you are miles away from the nearest city. Each casita is decorated with a theme. We stayed in Casita Bambu, painted in shades of green with a bambu poster bed with mosquito netting. The lovely bathroom is tiled in tones... More

By out-of-the-way I mean that you are not in a town, so you cannot walk to anything [except one restaurant]. That is the negative side - the only one to this place. It is quiet and peaceful. Beautiful [though small] grounds make a nice walk from your cabana to the breakfast terrace every morning. Breakfast was very nice. Rooms spacious.... More

We landed in San Jose and drove directly to Tacacori. The relief we felt upon arrival was immense and not just because we drove through rush our, but because we realized that we had gotten what we were hoping for. The lodge made us feel that Costa Rica was going to be great. Secluded but not too far off the... More

Tacacori was a gorgeous oasis on the outskirts of San Jose. There are only 4 cottages at this eco-lodge, and each is set in a private, beautiful, lush garden. After the long flight to San Jose and going through customs, etc., it was heavenly to arrive at this spot. We enjoyed a glass of wine on the lovely, private patio... More

Amazing grounds, nice rooms, great breakfast. It's a great place to stay for a few nights when your flying in or out. It's only a 20 minute drive to the airport. And if you stay here make sure you go to xandari resort next door for lunch or supper, you won't be disappointed!

All in all we spent 4 nights at Tacacori ecolodge and we felt like home. Nadine, the owner, is such a wonderful person. She made us feel like family and was always available and helpful. The gardens are lush and full of birds. The casita ' s are all beautiful and very clean. The shower is better than at home. It... Friendly service, decent breakfast and private bungalows in a Costa Rica of your mind setting. Rooms have little amenities outside of a fridge, warm shower and patio and the lighting can be a bit dim so a headlamp may help, it will also help on your walk to the nearest restaurant (Xandari) down the hill (this walk is not for... We stayed here one night, the final night of our week in Costa Rica with a flight early the following morning. The owner, Nadine, met us when we arrived that evening, and led us down a landscaped path to our room/bungalow. We had to leave the hotel at 5am the next morning, so she prepared us a breakfast that we... More

We had read great reviews of Tacacori EcoLodge and it was even better than the reviews. Patrick met us at the airport and drove us to the beautiful Tacacori. Our casita was beautifully decorated and the bathroom was elegant. We enjoyed the private patio outside our casita, looking out on the lush garden. Breakfast on the main patio featured fresh...
