I moved from the Courtyard Marriott in Escazu (San Jose suburb) to this town which is only 15min drive to the airport. It was the best thing I ever did!! It is taking over an hour to the airport from San Jose no matter what time! Coming into this place was so relaxing! The breeze in the courtyard, the fountain...

I , on behalf of my family would like to wholeheartedly recommend staying at this hotel on your trip to Costa Rica. We first came to this hotel on our first ever trip to Costa Rica in 2011 having been led there by another couple who had discovered this little gem. We stayed in the "High End" rooms on our...

This is a very nice hotel located near the airport. It was perfect for one night while waiting for our flight the next morning. Great bed, great showers, great front desk staff. They serve dinner and drinks. They also pay for your trip to the airport (not from the airport). They will have a taxi waiting and ready for you...

We stayed at Los Volcanes two nights and both nights were amazing. They take great care of you and make your stay as convenient as possible. They provide a delicious complimentary breakfast and even arrange your taxi trip to the airport, which is less than 10 minutes away. We booked a double standard room with shared bathroom. Shared bathrooms always...

We spent the night at this B&B in Alajuela on our way to Ylang Ylang Beach Resort. The young man at the desk was extremely helpful and courteous. The room was spacious and comfortable and dinner and breakfast were very good. I will definitely stay here on my next trip.

This is a lovely little hotel. We stayed the last two nights of our three week Costa Rica vacation. The room was clean with comfortable beds, a totally silent fan in the ceiling and and hot water shower. It was in the back of the hotel, so no noise from the street at all. Good, central location in Alajuela with...

We booked Hotel Los Volcanoes for our first night in Costa Rica. Even though we arrived later than anticipated (11pm), we got such a lovely warm welcome from the owner. He was also very helpful when I realised I had left my phone and passport in the taxi we took from the airport and helped me to get them back!....

Really great hotel, calm and secure, clean and simple. Good location, the little garden inside is gorgeous. Close to the shops and a square where you can taste the local life every sunday afternoon. A family business well kept and to try.

Hotel Los Volcanes is the latest use of a fantastic old house right across from the Museo Histórico Cultural Juan Santamaría in downtown Alajuela. When you first step into the hotel, you get the sense that you are in a former mansion, with a Spanish feel combined with the open areas so common to central America. The rooms are very...
