I stayed at arilapa on my way in and out of San Jose, and it was awesome! Beautiful land to ground down on after and before being on an airplane, great people, great dogs. I love how casual it was, I just showed up both times and it was totally cool. The people who live there are all very helpful....

This is an interesting quaint hotel/hostel The rooms are all very basic with a fan, internet access (not so strong in the rooms). There is one more expensive room with a double bed up stairs and a lounge. The usual room is $30 a night, and the bigger one is $50/60, breakfast is included. There are Iguanas, plenty of birds...

We we're recommended this by a friend saying the owner was a character but it was a beautiful spot. It was a beautiful spot and the owner was a character, a times coming across as 'bat sh#t crazy'. The free airport shuttle doesn't exist and looking at other reviews now, hasn't for several years. He didn't reply to emails and...

I arrived at the hotel @ 630 am and found the staff already had breakkfast prepared for me, Traditional costa rican quisine with all the trimmings. the grounds are exotic, they have a beautiful river running through the grounds, shrouded in beautiful trees, and also a fantastic fish pond full of tropical fish and turtles!!They also have a yoga deck. It was beautiful. The perfect place to disconnect from the rush of the city. Everyone there felt like family, even the chickens and the dogs. The breakfasts were amazing, Santi the chef was funny and very nice to talk to. There was a band that practiced there and drinking coffee and talking with them was a nice experience too. The...

I think is an awesome place to stay. It's a little far from the city and that was just perfect, the best part is that there is a bus that goes form near the b&b to the city of Alajuela and it was very cheap. We love the place, the beds were comfy, it was so beautiful, even the bathroom...

Arilapa is a beautiful GEM outside the city of Alajuela. My boyfriend and I were so thankful to get out of the city chaos and be welcomed like family by the staff and guests. After traveling for many hours we were greeted with AMAZING, fresh, clean food and water on a sustainable farm surrounded by trees and a beautiful river....

We booked this B and B for the last night of our trip due to its proximity to and the offer of a free ride to or from the airport. It was also recommended in the lonely planet. We arrived in the dark, having taken 30 minutes to get from the airport (as we were passing). We were informed that...

I love this place. Great hosts, good food, kitchen available to cook your own meals, amazing scenery, balconies and porches to enjoy the view...it's fantastic. I stayed here as a female by myself and it was no problem at all. The downside to Arilapa is that it's REALLY hard to find if you're coming by car. I spent about 3...

Everytime I fly in or out of SJO I always stay a few days relaxing at Hotel Arilapa. It is my favorite spot to stay around the greater San Jose area. You are close proximity to airport and city but staying at the B&B is a world away. If you like a tranquil small farm environment that is located on...
