We were here only one night prior to flying home.
Our husbands were returning the rental car to the airport in a torrential downpour. The Manager wrote a detailed short cut to get the car back and picked them up at the airport to return them to the hotel, as well as had staff take us to the airport in the morning.
The Manager also allowed us to bring our own wine in at a nominal fee for corkage.
Lovely dinner, reasonable prices.
Rooms were clean, All you could want for one night.
approx 15 minutes to the airport.
Located in a neighborhood. Don’t be put off by the surrounding area

This is a great place to get clear of the hustle and bustle of San Jose. The hotel is immaculate and the staff are friendly. All the staff speak excellent English. The rooms are comfortable but if you can get a superior room - it's worth it. If you are driving out of San Jose, Solid Car Rental will bring your car and it is an easy route to the Autopist heading South.
The restaurant serves delicious food..

This family-owned hotel is filled with honor. Owned by 5 siblings and their parents, there is an attention to detail in the rooms, the landscaped garden space and their hospitality that is unmatched. They'll pick you up at the airport, serve drinks that welcome you, provide food that is fabulously homemade and regale you with stories of the environment. They'll even drive you to your rental car. I loved it because it is welcoming, friendly, clean and inviting, with its restaurant, its pool and enclosed space. Highly recommended.

I have been using this delightful and charming, family run hotel for several years when I am using san Jose airport but need to overnight.
About 15 minutes from the airport the clean, comfortable and well maintained rooms are set in beautiful eco gardens.
Staff are charming and very helpful. Being a family run business really shows through well here.
The restaurant serves some delightful dishes for dinner and breakfast. The camarones a la Diablo are delicious.
Highly recommended.

Should have posted this earlier, we had an outstanding time at the beginning and end of our two week trip

This is not your typical airport hotel. This one is special. Great family, great staff. So many birds and beautiful landscaping. Alajandro the groundskeeper takes great pride in keeping the grounds clean and well maintained. He will also show you the pygmy owl, he called it a choosa (sp?). ViVi makes the best mojito in Costa Rica if she is working. The staff helped us find rapid covid testing nearby, which was a huge help. We actually spent an extra day here just to relax before flying out. Typical breakfast was good with fresh herbs from their garden. Food was excellent in their restaurant, no need to leave the hotel. Shrimp with pasta and snapper baked in foil with veggies were highlights. Pool was clean and refreshing. I actually can't say enough good things about this hotel. It is near to the airport (15 minutes) so you do have the occasional landing/departure. But soon, all you hear are the birds chirping. Their are no sidewalks along the busy road to venture out to the nearby area, but why would you leave the resort?

An airport motel like no other ! This was our final stop on a 17 day trip and it was certainly unique. It is priced similarly to the usual American chain hotels who operate around SJO but it is small and family run. It is near El Roble which is not a pretty place, with smelly open drains and a sketchy feel to it but was interesting for a short walk to buy snacks and the people were friendly. Nowhere else to eat other than the hotel, though.
The room itself was standard airport motel/hotel in worn fittings and the basics only but it was clean and comfortable enough. The garden has a large pond to encourage wildlife and unfortunately this means mosquitos too. The only place we got really mosquito bitten in all our CR travels.
However, this place is full of garden birds. They may be common birds for CR but they are interesting to visitors and I have never seen an airport hotel anywhere else where nearly all guests carried at least one of birdbooks, tick lists, binocs and huge long lenses. There was no information from the hotel as such but you are almost guaranteed to meet folk who know loads about birds. I see that they occasionally run Urban Garden Bird guided tours for outside guests for $12 but not during our stay. People also come from outside for the Executive lunch deal which is superb value. Dinner was good too. Breakfast a rather basic buffet. Though it is forgivable when your view includes hummingbirds, tanagers, the spot breasted oriole, the Inca doves nesting in the restaurant ceiling and the background noises of kiskadees and grackles. The swimming pool was clean and I had it all to myself.
The only negative thing about the shuttle was the 30 minute wait for the pick up from the domestic terminal and that there is no free shuttle back to the airport after 12pm so we had to pay a fee to get taken back to SJO for our international flight home.

A wonderful friendly hotel with (for us) surprising bird habitat. The hotel itself is excellent, clean, comfortable beds, delicious breakfast, friendly staff. But the winning feature is the way Emanuel and his family are creating habitat for birds, and encouraging the entire community to do the same.
We saw woodpeckers, tanagers, mot-mots, parrots and there is even a pygmy owl box on the property.

This is a very friendly family business. The rooms were very clean and our service was spectacular. The food was amazing. They have beautiful gardens on the property, and use fresh herbs in their delicious food. We enjoyed drinks in an incredible setting while watching exotic birds. This was a great way to start our vacation.

Convenient to the airport, flight path overhead but as this is not a very busy airport - no problem. Set in beautiful, well maintained grounds, great for birdwatching. The rooms are spacious with showere, hairdryer,A/C & good wifi. Breakfast is fresh fruit followed by eggs, pancakes. Dinner is very good, the fish is excellent. A family run business, they are extremely obliging, sorting out transfers to & from the airport at any time you require. Emmanuel's birding trip was excellent.

Hello Christine! Our apologies for the such late answer. Our shuttle service runs between 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. In this case we are able to schedule a taxi service to pick you up at our hotel. Normally the cost is about $9 or $10. Regards, Josue Guzman - Reservations
