Super nice staff, very clean rooms and attractive surroundings with pools and hammocks. BUT this place is far from its full potential. I do not recommend the dorms (too many beds, not enough space for bags and nowhere to hang wet towels... not worth the price) + My knife was stolen from the communal kitchen and the same day someone...

Hostel has 2 buildings, depends what category you book. Whats on the picture are the standard rooms where the pool, reception and bar are. We booked the highest category. Located in other building across the road. 3rd floor, no elevator. No assistance with bags. - Balcony overlooking other building and windows. Very noisy as it is at crossroad. At 6am...

Came on a whim and late at night during holy week. Drove around and discovered a lot of hotels were booked up. We were told by a beautiful neighbouring resort that this hostel had one room left and the rooms were decent. Private with own bathroom was only 83 US and this was a peak time so we weren't going...

We turned up and all seemed well... They'd figured out we had made two bookings (to extend our stay), they gave us a small tour of the hostel, we were shown to our room, and given a voucher for a free welcome cocktail. Our room was clean and fresh linen was provided (in ornate swan design) This is where the...

This was my first hostel and I loved it. It's in the center of town which was awesome because there was so much to do around town. We had a blast with the staff from the front desk rep to bartender to the chef. the pool is small but big enough to swim in. Oh and the pool as a...

I stayed at Arenal Hostel Resort for 2 nights and I'm so happy I made this choice. The grounds are kept very nice, and there's nothing like having hammocks, a restaurant, and a heated swim up bar at a hostel! While I was there, it attracted a younger (20s-early 30s) crowd. The bar was a lot of fun at night,...

There was a lot that irritated me about my experience at this hostel. I arrived and was immediately told that I had to stay at their "sister" hostel down the street, which was not quite as nice as what I had seen in photos beforehand. They handed me the bill right away, which was incorrect and I had to have...

A very lovely hostel (which felt more like a lively hotel) right in the middle of town, walking distance from all the bars, cafes and restaurants. Also walking distance from the bus station. I really liked this hostel, complete with a swimming pool feat waterfall. It had a warm and friendly atmosphere, hammocks and a bar area to meet others,...

This hostel is amazing, the dorm's are clean and simple, the grounds are amazing with the heated pool, hammocks and bar. If this is your first time in a hostel you will be spoilt for life. I stayed in a lot of hostels before but this is one of the best. Okay it has cold water showers if you are...

This place was a big disappointment for us. First, the kitchen is not prepared for this amount of guests in the hostel. We never had a mug for coffee, or a cutting board, and there were almost always dirty dishes in the sink. We just couldn't cook in the kitchen, and for us that is important. Second, their were some...
