We spent three nights in the Tree Houses and were travelling with two other families in Costa Rica. Our group included parents, teenagers, and pre-teens and everyone loved it. Lucy and Mark were always helpful and gracious hosts. The tree houses were fantastic, both comfortable and interesting. We stayed in Yiquirro and enjoyed our coffee on the beautiful deck each...

My husband and I visited Tree Houses Hotel about a year ago. Due to availablity, we were only able to stay here one night. We are so glad that we decided to leave our nicer resort-type hotel that we stayed at for two nights to spend a night in the tree houses even though they were in similar areas. This...

If you want to go to the Arenal/La Fortuna area of Costa Rica, this is the place! Slightly off the beaten trail and wayyyy less touristy (actually its the only hotel in the are so you know there aren't many tourists!), the Tree Houses Hotel is where it's at. It books up really quickly to make sure you get in...

The Treehouses were unique and gave excellent privacy without isolation. We traveled with friends and rented two treehouses next to each other. We had a great time. Really enjoyed the 6 am coffee delivered to our door way up in the trees. Also appreciated the cut up fruit delivered with the coffee to put out for the squirrels and birds...

We spent two wonderful nights at Tree House and loved it! Great way to get away from it all and see some really cool nature! Highlights are: 1) Rolando's night time tour of the property where we saw lots of wildlife including the Costa Rican red eye tree frog! This is a must do. 2) the breakfast every morning was...

My husband and I stayed in the Toucan tree house, we were initially on a waiting list for March (inquired in January, so book early if you can). We were ecstatic to learn they had 2 nights open up during our stay in Costa Rica. The tree house had everything we needed, even electricity and flush toilet! The tree house...

If you have ever wanted to stay in a tree house in the jungle, this is the place for you. It has electricity (including air conditioning) and running water, so it's not really roughing it, but we prefer at least a few comforts of home. The grounds are beautiful and there is some light hiking onsite. You are at eye...

This was our first time to Costa Rica and it was absolutely amazing. The tree houses were awesome. We stayed in the frog, which is one of the smaller tree houses, but there was plenty of room for the two of us. We could hear the birds and monkeys and night were able to see some of the wildlife during...

My wife and I love animals and love animals being able to live in wild. So living in a beautiful, clean tree house in the Costa Rican jungle was an absolute delight. We watched a beautiful sloth from our porch for hours. A playful family of howler monkeys were also easily observable from our deck. Hosts Mark and Lucy were...

We stayed in 4 different hotels while in CR and this was by far the best place for impromptu wildlife encounters. We met a mexican dwarf hairy porcupine, an armadillo, a family of howler monkeys, an agouti, and tons of birds. (Momots, collard aracaris, cuckoos, hummingbirds, and more!) To top it off, the breakfasts were delicious, the treehouse small but...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tree Houses Hotel is a bed and breakfast hotel conveniently located off the main road that runs through La Fortuna and around the Arenal Volcano. We are a short 25 minute drive to the high tourist area. People seek us out with that in mind, to be away from it all but close enough to enjoy all the fun adventure the La Fortuna, Arenal Volcano area has to offer. We have just 5 tree houses (each very private) on 8 acres and we are surrounded by a 70 acre wildlife refuge with a waterfall, pools to swim and a beautiful river. Each tree house features A/C, warm water showers, refrigerators and safes. There are few hotels like this in the world and none other in Costa Rica. There is something so very exciting about spending the night high in the forest canopy, wildlife all around you, safe and cozy in a tree house hotel in Costa Rica. ... more   less
