If you're looking for something a little off the beaten track in Costa Rica, this place is for you. We had a blast staying with our two kids (ages 9 and 7) right in the trees with the animals. Birds are everywhere--a couple of toucans came to visit us while we were there--and we saw armadillos, spiders, a sloth and...

We stayed here last week for two nights and it was awesome. We had come from Monteverde (Cloud forest about 5 hours away) and first drove through La Fortuna and started to wonder whether we made the right choice to go outside of town. We SURE did! About 30 mins past La Fortuna, it was easy to find and literally...

I will forever rave about this hotel! The staff was amazing, attentive and informative regarding day and night activities to experience. I loved that every morning there was a thermos of hot coffee waiting outside our door and an amazing and healthy breakfast waiting at the main lodge. The grounds are unbelievable, every morning you wake up to the sounds...

The Tree Houses Hotel is a very special place and we are very pleased to have been able to include this stay into our honeymoon trip. There are only about 5 tree houses set in sprawling lush grounds filled with amazing wildlife. On our second morning we had a thermo flask of fresh coffee left on our porch and plantains...

At first, as we got close to the property, we were nervous, because we were still in the heart of town and it was only 2 or 3km's away. Thank goodness, the scenery changes quickly, and city sidewalks became forested everywhere. The staff was, great, the surroundings were amazing, the cabins were neat, clean and high in the trees...

We stayed for one night at the Tree Houses hotel for one night on our coast to coast trip in CR last week. We had banana filled french toast for breakfast. We stayed in the Monkey tree house. The rooms have a combo safe and small fridge. The beds were so comfortable and we slept with the window open to...

This place is so unbelievable, and was easily the highlight of our Costa Rica trip! We stayed for only one night, but to really appreciate it you need at least two to three. Located a fair distance outside of La Fortuna, the "hotel" is situated on a large jungle property, surrounded by lush vegetation and tons of wildlife. The five...

This was a trip 2 years in the making. When it looked like I would not make it, my daughter gave me this trip for a Christmas present! While some of the tree houses offer lofts (great for kids), we stayed in the single-floor plan Yiguirro - the newest and largest of the six tree houses. It was also the...

Thank you so much for the kind words and we really enjoyed having you here at Tree Houses with us. Also thank you for the tip on the horseback. That was the first -- and last -- time we will work with that company. Our regular horseback operator has the best horses in the area (he actually lives above the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tree Houses Hotel is a bed and breakfast hotel conveniently located off the main road that runs through La Fortuna and around the Arenal Volcano. We are a short 25 minute drive to the high tourist area. People seek us out with that in mind, to be away from it all but close enough to enjoy all the fun adventure the La Fortuna, Arenal Volcano area has to offer. We have just 5 tree houses (each very private) on 8 acres and we are surrounded by a 70 acre wildlife refuge with a waterfall, pools to swim and a beautiful river. Each tree house features A/C, warm water showers, refrigerators and safes. There are few hotels like this in the world and none other in Costa Rica. There is something so very exciting about spending the night high in the forest canopy, wildlife all around you, safe and cozy in a tree house hotel in Costa Rica. ... more   less
