The Tree Houses hotel is located on an immaculate property near the Arenal Volcano. Our tree house was uniquely constructed and enjoyable. Mark and Lucy do a wonderful job managing the place and are genuinely good people. The breakfasts each morning were tasty and fun. We gave a 4/5 rating because staying here really is a unique experience, but there...

We always appreciate feedback and the opinions of our guests. Unfortunately, we cannot control the traffic flow past the Tree Houses. We do get traffic, but it is not constant or overwhelmingly loud. We have instituted a new reservation system where guests can now choose the tree house they would like to stay in. There are descriptions and pictures of...

My husband and I stayed in the Monkey (congo) tree house in July. Mark and Lucy were very welcoming and willing to help us out any way that they could during our stay. We took the Day trip with Juan to the volcano, hanging bridges, La Fortuna waterfall (around 500 steps!!!) and to the hot springs. Juan's sons Eduardo and...

We stayed two nights at the Tree Houses Hotel during our Costa Rica trip. It was a great place to relax in the evening after a busy day and wake up to the sounds of nature. We hiked one afternoon around the Tree Houses and ended up at the river on the property that connects to it. We swam in...

It's a nice enough place to stay. Mark and Lucy are very pleasant and helpful hosts. However, in hindsight I think we would have stayed elsewhere. Here's what worked for us: - nice rainforest setting - large room - coffee on the deck while trying to spy wildlife in the rain (except for passing trucks) - treehouse: fun for the...

We always welcome reviews that can help us improve our award-winning level of service here at Tree Houses. We are constantly striving to ensure that our guests have the best time possible while staying with us. Our breakfasts have consistently gotten very high reviews on TripAdvisor, particularly the baked huevos rancheros that this family had the one day they were...

Travelled as a family of 4, all really enjoyed the different aspect of sleeping up so high, our children are 13 and 11 and we felt the same it would be quite dangerous with small children you couldn't turn your back at all !!!! The location was really half an hours drive from La Fortuna so it is best to...

We spent two nights at the Tree Houses Hotel, in the Sloth. It was surprisingly nice for a treehouse, with air conditioning and a bathroom and patio area. We (family of 4, kids 11 & 14) stayed for two nights at the Monkey tree house, and it was a great experience. The cabin (at least for adults, the "novelty" aspect of a "tree house" is over pretty quickly, and it just feels like the second story of a cabin in the woods) was less rustic than I expected,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tree Houses Hotel is a bed and breakfast hotel conveniently located off the main road that runs through La Fortuna and around the Arenal Volcano. We are a short 25 minute drive to the high tourist area. People seek us out with that in mind, to be away from it all but close enough to enjoy all the fun adventure the La Fortuna, Arenal Volcano area has to offer. We have just 5 tree houses (each very private) on 8 acres and we are surrounded by a 70 acre wildlife refuge with a waterfall, pools to swim and a beautiful river. Each tree house features A/C, warm water showers, refrigerators and safes. There are few hotels like this in the world and none other in Costa Rica. There is something so very exciting about spending the night high in the forest canopy, wildlife all around you, safe and cozy in a tree house hotel in Costa Rica. ... more   less
