My friend and I began our week-long Costa Rica trip in Poas and had planned for only one night at the Poas Lodge & Restaurant. After staying that one night we both wished we had planned more time. The hotel itself is beautiful, the view is incredible, and the rooms are warm and welcoming. Mark and Oliver absolutely spoiled us....

What an amazing place to stay, it is truly a wonderful location. My only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. The rooms are soo lovely, plenty of room. It was awesome to get up and have coffee with fresh mountain air. Whoever decorated the lodge, I would love to have them to my house!! The day we got there...

Poas Lodge was a great place to spend the last night of our trip. We had spent the week on the Nicoya Peninsula and were looking for a place to stay close to the airport but not in San Jose. We had a large group of 11 friends that took up most of the lodge. We were welcomed by Mark...

Stayed for two nights recently, at the end of a two-week trip to CR. Mark and Oliver were gracious hosts and made my stay relaxing and enjoyable. The rooms are small but clean, and all look out over the Central Valley. The dining room is also nicely done and the food was great. This is a small alpine inn, not...

It is always a pleasure to hear that our guests enjoy Poas Lodge. At night the lodge really does have a special atmosphere with the cool music, the candles, the fireplace and of course the view of the city lights. We have just finished installing a new bar which we feel will enhance the experience even further. Thanks again for...

We love hearing back from our guests and find that these reviews are an excellent barometer for knowing if we are running Poas Lodge in a way that pleases our guests. We also agree that because we are close to the airport, it is an amazing first stop for any Costa Rican vacation. Thank you for your input.

Our stay at Poas Lodge was fantastic! The views are spectacular, and the hospitality superb! We only stayed here one night, but it was one of the highlights of our trip. The food was amazing--we had dinner and breakfast here and these were some of the best meals we experienced in Costa Rica! We had a king room and a...

Thank you for the positive feedback, it is wonderfully encouraging to know we are on the right path with the lodge. With the recent upgrades we had a bit of dust and noise but we are glad to say it is all over and the new entrance is looking amazing! We thank all our recent guests who were so patient...

I chose Poas Lodge and Restaurant based on previous reviews, and they were right on. This is the place to stay to arrive by 8am to visit Poas Volcano only 3 mi. up the road. Mark and Oliver were exceptional hosts, and we didn't want for anything. Besides dining at the lodge, Colbert's French Restaurant is also excellent in the...

We had originally gone to another hotel based on guidebook recommendations. Our group was sorely disappointed in what we saw, so we headed down the road a little and stumbled across Poas Lodge. The guys that run the place are above and beyond outstanding. We got a bite to eat, which was one of the best meals of our trip,...

This is a beautiful place to stay when visiting Poás volcano. We stayed in a king size bed room, it was very clean and had a huge TV screen with many channels to choose from. The location is perfect since you're only about 5kms away from the Poás national park entrance. The best though are the views... it is just...
