Our stay is bean very relaxing and charming. The owners are nice and helpful, they could explain us all the activities en the area! The room and in general all the spaces are beautiful, in fact Juan is an artist and decorated all by him self. The bathroom are clean. The location it’s comfortable, near to a lot of interest points. Very recommend!

Juan and Carlos are lovely people, excellent hosts, and very helpful. We admired what they are trying to do in creating a very eco friendly hotel. Much thought has gone into their artwork in transforming the place and they are quite happy to tell you the stories behind it. It will be interesting to see it again in the future when more of their plans are complete. We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of our trip in order to do some artisan shopping in Sarchi and be accessible for the airport having spent most of our trip on the Caribbean side. Unfortunately there was heavy rain while we were there but Carlos gave us some very good tips on where to go and where not to go for restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. We were also happy that the wifi was good since it was very rainy - caught up on a bit of emails, etc.

What a surprise to drop into this hotel, meet Carlos and Juan, and fall in love with the place. Simple clean rooms, lovely breakfast, and recycled art all around. Juan Jesus is truly an artist who uses 'trash' to create murals, wall hangings, mobiles, lamps, and more. His artistic talent is reflected in the messages he conveys through the artwork and the hotel is his canvas. Carlos rounds out the hospitality with his charming personality and attentiveness. Lot's of love in this hotel!

I give it just 4 stars only because they still have more they want to, and no doubt will do, to improve their special place. The empty pool should be addressed sooner than later. For that I wouldn't recommend it for small children.

If you want a nice, comfortable, reasonably priced place to stay in Sarchi, Jucahuje is an excellent choice.

very affordable and a special homey stay...owners Juan and Carlos made an extra effort to provide vegetarian meals ... i needed to get an early start to reach the Poas Volcano before the clouds rolled in...original artwork and atmosphere...be sure to use waze or another gps app as the spot is off the beaten track...

Namaste.

The hotel it's self is very funky and really feels like you have found a gem. The owners are fabulous, took care of all our needs, and even took the time to hang out with us, which was a delight. Sarchi is a great little town surrounded by absolutely gorgeous scenery. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Costa Rica.

Found out about this place by coincidence (local recommendation) - beautifully set up with lots of attention to detail. Simple, but clean and with everything you need! Lovely owners with a very positive attitude, going the extra mile and making the place feel like home. Great pleasure to have a laugh with Carlos and his partner - we'll definitely return if we're lucky enough to make it back to Costa Rica one day.

Jucahuje Lodge is a special little piece of paradise. It is a unique blend of hotel and hostel at a great price. The bed was comfortable, the rooms private, and the atmosphere as laid back as a Sunday morning. Carlos y Jesus are wonderful to talk and laugh with. And they did make pancakes on the final morning that I was there :) I very much look forward to visiting them again next time I am doing business in Sarchi.

Rooms are clean and colourfully decorated. The location is a great base for visiting Poas, La Fortuna, or the local waterfalls. It is also far enough from San Jose that you get to enjoy the peace and quiet!

Juan and Carlos are wonderful hosts who offer lots of helpful information about the area. It is obvious they really enjoy what they create and this make for a rejuvenating stay.

Breakfast is delicious with local fruit, eggs, and fluffy pancakes!

We actually went out of our way to visit Jucahuje on our trip, and I'm so glad we did. The hotel is beautiful, with a ton of artistic details and things to see. Juan Jesus was so accommodating (and I wish I was better at Spanish so I could better thank him for his help!), and Carlos helped translate and chatted with us about his travels. Both are so friendly and can give travel advice. The rooms were colorful and fun, and the beds were comfortable. Definitely worth the walk from the town :)

Answer from JUCAHUJE
Sarchi, Costa Rica4 contributions
