We booked a room about 2 weeks in advance for our 2 week trip to Costa Rica. When we finally arived at Hotel Quelitales they gave us a free upgrade to a room with a better view that was still unbooked. Later that night we had dinner in the restaurant (located on site) which was an experience on it's own....

The first time we came here was for lunch. The second time we came was to get married next to the waterfall on the property. Since then, we've been staying here, and eating here every time we come to CR, and we're always looking forward to our next visit. The setting is beautiful and tranquil, with numerous ponds and streams-some...

What a lovely place tucked away in the mountains behind lake Cachi! Compared to many other roads off the beaten track the one leading to hotel Quelitales is in great shape. The local bus makes it nearly there so any 4x4 can easily tackle it. Jose and his crew do a marvellous job. On arrival we were great with a...

We always try to stay in boutique hotels, bed and breakfasts or other local establishments instead of chain hotels or large developments, so we have a lot of experience in places that try to add a personal touch. Jose (owner) and Hotel Quelitales rank among the very best in that regard. I've never seen a hotel owner that cared as...

The room is a good size with indoor and outdoor showers. Unfortunately there were some blood stains on the duvet cover and hairs in the bed itself but the linen was changed on request the next...

This may be almost the only hotel in Cachi, and the road in is very rough, but it is an excellent place to visit. Very isolated with its own waterfall, lovely gardens, and hundreds of birds.
