The place is really nice and the owners took the time to explain us everything that we could do in the area. The tenthouse were we stayed for 3 nights turned out to be a great low budget option near the Rincon de la Vieja national park. There is a very basic camping style kitchen available with a kitchen box...

Hello Eve, Thank you for your nice words about our place! We are happy to hear you had a great stay with us. We would like to correct the information about the taxi and shuttle rates. The rate for the shuttle from the lodge to the Las Pailas entrance of National Park Rincon de la Vieja (25 min drive on...

Lots of information was made available to us including local maps. the village has a great store where you can get supplies at 'normal' prices, no wine though!! Cold beer. Very clean shower and toilet block, outside kitchen made a welcome relief not to unpack our own stove, made for a easy departure morning. Great value for money, Recommend it...

This small scale lodging is very charming. The owner, Gerard is extremely welcoming and his love and enthusiasm for the area is infectious. He is extremely helpful with advice about getting around and where to go. The grounds are well maintained with incredible flowers, birds and other wildlife all around. It is a short walk to a beautiful swimming hole...

We traveled to the Rincon de la Vieja area with our two young children and stayed at El Sol Verde in the wooden tents for the weekend. Everything was great and the children loved the whole camping experience. With Dutch ingenuity, Gerard and Ingrid have built a very beautiful and special place to stay complete with a spacious and well...

Very Friendly couple manages this facility. We stayed two nights in one of the rooms. Rooms are clean and have a good hot shower. Ingrid and Gerard's Information about the Rincon de la Vieja national park was very useful, so we could make the most out of our stay. Sorry we broke your hammock :) (which Gerard was very relaxed...

I came here a couple years ago and as soon as I saw the place, I was excited. Gerard and Ingrid are the most hospitable couple ever, really made me feel like I was going to a family member's house instead of a hotel. They helped us out with our itinerary, and just have nice conversations during breakfast and dinner....

Ingrid and Gerard were so kind and helpful. We had a very clean room and they give you the option to enjoy a simple breakfast before you head out for the day. They will also pack you a lunch to take into the park (Rincon de la Vieja) and help you arrange for joining the shuttle that takes you there....

Gerard and Ingrid van Vuuren, a friendly, trilingual Dutch couple who run a small hotel and campground in the tiny village of Curubandé, Costa Rica, minutes from the fabulous Rincón de la Vieja National Park, hosted me for one night in a "tent house" on their property for $27.50, and if I had to think of one complaint, I couldn't....

I stayed in a tent house in mid-January 2015. The property and experience are as described on the website. A perfect place to begin my month long stay in Costa Rica. Regarding tripadvisor reviews, all of the posted positive comments and way more. I can't say enough about the assistance, kindness and generosity of Gerard and Ingrid.

This place is great. It's listed in the Liberia section, but really it should be in the Rincon de la Vieja section. It's about a 10 minute drive from hotel to park. Best place to stay in my opinion as the other hotels are quite isolated and once there, you are eating all your meals there. With ESV, you can...
