Sometimes, upon return, you wonder if you have idealized your vacation spots, and question if it was really as good as you are remembering. It has been about five years since I have been to Rancho Armadillo, and I couldn't wait for the views from...More
I have been visiting Rancho Armadillo for over 10 years now. Rick is a welcoming & knowledgeable host. He's quick with good advice on restaurants, local beaches, & general info on the area. The Ranch has been refreshed over the years with new linens, tvs,...More
Spent 3 nights with Rick at his estate. Great host and a wonderful breakfast! Rick has all the information you need to plan your activities. He even set up a sailboat excursion for the day to secluded beach with caves and great lunch and cocktails...More
What a very wonderful and unique place Rick has created. You really can't describe it as a bed and breakfast, or an inn, or a resort. As Rick said, it is a place for travelers rather than tourists. It was perfect for our big family...More

We are located on the side of the mountain overlooking the Gulf of Papagayo, about 1 Mile from the beach in Coco. (10 -15 minute walk downhill) Because the mountains come right down to the ocean each of the beaches north and south of us require a drive. Playas Hermosa & Playa Panama to the north of us is about a 10 minute drive and Ocotal to the south is also a 10 minute drive. Taxi's to and from Coco are about $4.
I highly recommend renting a car, there is so much to do and see in this area, by having your own transportation it will be much cheaper and more convienent in the long run.
