We literally just dropped in hoping to find room for 8 people. Edwardo made it work for us and we were so grateful. He also helped us learn how to get around and what was a fair deal. We felt safe, the rooms were small, but clean and comfortable (no hot water though). The outside kitchen is perfect for preparing and eating your own food. The hotel is family friendly and walking distance to the beach and shopping.
We were pleasantly surprised with our accommodations. We found our room to be clean, quiet and reasonably priced. The owner was very helpful and kind. The outdoor kitchen area was an awesome place to prepare easy suppers.
I recently visited Hotel Savannah with my family during the current school vacation with my family. The place was amazing, the rooms were clean and we had a GREAT time. There was a gentlemen by the name of Alberto that helped us with everything that we needed as well as recommending great places to go and visit. I recommend this place to anyone that is wanting to go and get away for some time in a quite and clean hotel. Thanks Alberto for all your help
It is cheap place, but quiet and clean enough. It is close to all the shopping holes and to the beach. No noise or dust from central street. Cold water, AC, shabby TV. They accept credit cards. Perfect for night or two.
Very, very small rooms! That's the bad. The good however is that it is a nice and secure property. There's a cool pool. There is a covered outside area with a tv, fridge, coffee maker and books. The rooms even though small are functional and after all they are only for sleeping. very close, walking distance to downtown bars, restaurants, and beach. Supermarkets close by, several. Overall not bad.
We spent the day at the hotel, the lady at the front desk was so polite , in regards to the room, no hot water but it was not bad. The swimming pool was ok , it was cold water I was literally freezing.
Dirty, no hot water, dirty bed linens and towels, mosquitoes in the room, only one hotel stuff and she would not speak English. This place should not be called hotel. This is just bed with kind of roof, that's it. Would not even call it motel
We ended up staying at Hotel Savannah because another hotel somehow lost our reservation and this was the first place that had availability, so we jumped on it. The room I guess you could say was clean, as there was virtually nothing in it, just the "meanest" barest room. The bed was old and lumpy and the sheets threadbare (transparent, actually!) and not fitted (20 years ago they might have had elastic on the corners) and they were torn at the corners as well. The bathroom towels were riddled with holes! It was right out of some unbelievable comedy! Only it wasn't very funny. They charged $70, and should have paid us to stay there. Besides the thumping of the nearby discotheque, there was a police siren that would go off every 3 minutes for about 20 seconds ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT! Luckily we had earplugs so managed to get a bit of sleep. We truly felt like we spent the night in a prison cell, including the sleep deprivation siren you hear about as a way to break a person down. We couldn't get out of there fast enough. The air condition worked well, fridge worked for an hour and died. The lack of door handle added to the "cell" feeling of the room, though the big bolt worked well and seemed secure.…
After having traveled an entire day from Nicaragua to Costa Rica I was extremely upset to find out that Hotel Savannah was charging me 60 dollars a night after I asked someone on the phone numerous times about the price. When I got to the hotel they told me it would be 60 dollars a day instead of 60 dollars for 3 nights for a one bedroom. After paying for one night (since we got there at 9pm) I then found out the hotel did not have hot water and the wifi was not working. DO NOT STAY HERE! Stay far away from this place it´s a rip off. You are better off walking further down and staying at a hostel (pure vibes).
Savannah is a very good basic beach hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms are basic and clean. The showers in the bathrooms are cold water, but of course we are used to that in Central America! Excellent location near the beach and all the action in town. The bus from Liberia literally stops across the street. Easy, affordable, and basic...a good deal.
