Upon our arrival, we were instantly greeted with a warm welcome by the owners Lyn and Larry. Initially our plan was to stay only a few days, we ended up staying for a month. Once we were there we realized that the Mariner offered everything we were looking for; great central location, 300 m from one of the best beaches...

Your options ... stay at one of the big resorts on Flamingo beach and pay close to $200 a night, or pay closer to $39 a night and spend the money saved on dinners. It was an easy decision at the time, but I would pay a bit extra and go elsewhere next time. The bamboo trees that line the...

In this case you get what you pay for. Yes very cheap rate but not worth it in this case. The room was a dump. There is a sign wich says from the management " we are not responsible for anything". That pretty much covers them I guess. But what tops it is I went for a half hour run...

The complaint was that something was moved, not his drawers. I explained that there could be no copy key because just prior to his check-in I had purchased and installed a new double lock set and he was the first and only one to have a key. He said he was a carpenter and I did not install it. He...

Uncertain at first but WOW!! Food was the best we had in the area and the cheapest!! Not fancy or pretty but if you want a taste of the town this is where to go! For a family of five it had something for all of us.

I stayed in this hotel with my best friend a week ago more or less. I have to say that if you're looking for a place to stay that is kind to your pocket, that is close to the beach, that has excellent customer service and that has rooms with your basic needs and a great restaurant, this is the...

This little hotel is located in Playa Flamingo, Costa Rica. It is a short walk to the white sand beach... one of the nicest beaches in Costa Rica. The rooms are very inexpensive from $29 a night. The owner is Larry from PA and his wife Lynn from the Philippines. The restaurant/bar has great food and is a hub of...

This is a simple, nice place to eat. Prices are good, service is friendly. No beach view, but still a nice environment. Good place to eat if you are studying Spanish at nearby CPI. My son had a nice hot dog.

This maybe a low budget hotel but the treatment we got from the owner Lyn and her staff was better than any high end resort. The rooms are clean and quiet and meet your basic needs. Lyn joined us for dinner and was a wealth of information when it came to planning our Costa Rica adventures. So glad we started...

We spent three nights here in october 2013. All was well, although damper than expected. A good choice for a low budget trip, especially if you get the "no tax" treatment from the owner. At the restaurant you can get excellent food and a chance to talk to the expats living in the area gathering here for lunch or dinner.

Came here a couple times during our stay. Food is good, service is good and they are reasonably priced. They have multiple flat screens so we caught the Super Bowl here and had a good time. I recommend stopping here for a beer and food anytime. Very laid back and good vibe.
