My husband and I stayed a week at Las Mariposas. While we were the oldest people by far, all the travelers made us feel very welcome. It was a great group of people and we felt like part of a family. Leone and her volunteers create a very welcoming environment. We stayed in a private room with our own bath...

I spent about five weeks here and it was one of the best times of my life. The hostel itself is beautiful, clean and surrounded with trees. The staff are very friendly and the guests that come through are always good company. You can take a short walk to the beach, the main road, and ATM. The location is ideal....

Had an excellent week here and met some amazing people. Most of the staff are young volunteers from around the world that are always down to hangout. The shady hammocks are perfect for killing time during the mid-day sun and the mango trees around the hostel provide a never ending supply of ripe mangos that the guests can help themselves...

The location is perfect, almost right on the beach and walking distance to the bars etc. but far enough to sleep peacefully at night. The bathrooms and rest of the hostel were very clean. Cheapest bed in town, 8 dollars for a hammock or 12 for a bed! You will make so many friends here because the hostel is always...

The hostel is nicely located and the fasilitys are good (internet, kitchen etc). The shared bedrooms differ in quality. The rooms with shared bathroom above the common area are way nicer with a large window and a breeze (we didnt need a fan for the night). Next day we had to change to a room with our own bathroom and...

I came to this hostel because of a strange set of events that seemed to point me to this hostel. I absolutely loved it there. So many interesting people to meet that are traveling for months solo. The town was small, safe and the beach was incredible. The volunteers really made the place. The family dinners were great and there...

Do you like to walk on the beach at night not having to worry about your stuff getting stolen? How about hippy tiled mosaic lined walkways? Or spur of the moment campouts on Playa Barrigona? Daily family dinners for like 5$? People from... everywhere? Las Mariposas has it all for 10$ or something. The staff here is clearly in love...

It's a solid hostel. Friendly staff. Wifi was a bit sketchy, but that's normal in this part of the world. It's super slow from times. The kitchen was clean. Showers and toilets were bearable, could have been slightly cleaner. It's fifty meters away from the beach.

I had a great experience staying at this hostel while in Samara taking Spanish language classes. It is in the best possible location on a quiet side street about 100 meters from the beach. The staff is very helpful, friendly and will make you feel like family. I really enjoyed the home-cooked meals provided every night for around $5, especially...

Really enjoyed my stay here. Dorms only have fans and I'd put bug spray on but overall I was really happy with this place. Staff is super nice and a really cool Argentinian guy cooks dinner for the guests every night if you pay $5 to be included. Very delicious and great vibe with everyone hanging out swapping traveler tips...
