I traveled with a long-time friend and my 9 year old. We arrived with no expectation, but this paradise exceeded anything I could have wished for in a hotel. Our trip was perfection and honestly this hotel had everything to do with making it like that. I don't know if it is all of Costa Rica, or just the personnel...

We have just stayed in this gorgeous boutique hotel for four nights. It really is a little gem of a place with exceptional service. The hotel is beautifully designed with a very attractive pool and bar area. Breakfasts were very good with a good selection of food as well as an egg station where your choice was cooked to order....

Just spent 4 nights at the Cala Luna. Very relaxed and laid back style boutique resort. Pool area was perfect, service was top notch and we looked forward to the breakfast outside each morning. Everything was of great quality. The bikes that can be used free of charge have had their day and should be replaced at some point but...

Nice pool, beach very rocky but beautiful sunsets with complimentary cocktails but very few chairs. Enjoyed our two nights but had to go to other beachs for surfing.Very nice breakfast buffet served in early morning.

By far the place to stay while visiting Tamarindo! Beautiful hotel with great staff. My husband and I could not have been more pleased. They have done a great job at leaving nature uninterrupted. Definitely the perfect place for those seeking tranquility and relaxation. We enjoyed every moment of our stay. Thanks Cala Luna!

I have stayed all over in Tamarindo. Houses, other hotels, etc. Cala Luna is by far the best. The rooms are very modern with fantastic sheets like staying at a W Hotel. You can even walk to Tamarindo from the beach path (20 minutes or so). And the complimentary breakfast is fantastic (enough that I never ate lunch). Best of...

There were some very good aspects to this hotel - very good service and lovely villas but they were SO dark inside the sitting rooms you had to have the lights on in the day. The outside areas that go with the villas were also under trees so you could not lie out in the sun by the pools very...

My wife and I just returned from 5 glorious days at Cala Luna. From the moment you arrive and Carlos greets you with his warm smile you feel at ease. Grounds are a tropical rainforest very unique and intoxicating. Suite was fantastic, we loved the unique layout, comfortable bed and the A/C felt great after long days in the sun....

“If you can afford a villa with a pool, splurge. But the hotel pool is amazing, so if you can't, you won't be disappointed either way.”

“Unless you want to be as far from everything as possible, ask for a room closer to the main building.”

“Two tiny suggestions. First, full length mirrors would be appreciated. Second, a little more storage space in the King Size bedded rooms. A dresser would be a good idea. Or, at least have a few available for those who are staying more than a day or two. ”
