Terrible noisy room near the road so bad we asked to go home.Dirtyand dingy.Breakfast was limited and the pool was what seemed to be over chlorinated. Some rooms had windows ours had two overlooking the back fence and road. The noise came from heavy Lorrys motorbikes, and club music sometimes until 3am.

I've stayed at this hotel twice now- in 2023 and 2024. Each trip 16 nighs. Couldn't speak more highly of this hotel and I'm not a review guy- unless I'm pissed off!. The staff bend over backward to be accommodating, from booking online help to arranging shuttles from the airport to providing local knowledge. I don't speak terrific Spanish but their English is spot on. GREAT on site restaurant! I highly recommend you get the breakfast included. Hotel is close to everything but a few minutes to the beach and just off the main drag- so it doesn't feel like it is too busy. Plus, its like an oasis on site! Pics don't do it justice. Planty of shade by the pool- which is key for me from about 10 til 4 when the sun is smoking. Grocery store across the street, Saturday Farmer's Market around the corner, Night Market a block up the street- everything is close. Rooms are clean and bright, A/C works great, plus it has TONS of character. Their nachos are to die for! Can't wait to come back next year!

I had the opportunity to stay at Pasatiempo during my recent Excoticca trip to Costa Rica. It was perfect for me; great location. Breakfast was included and the breakfast was the best I had on the whole trip - thank you chef! You are minutes from everything; the beach access is at 2 minute walk, you are in the town center. The hustle and bustle right at your feet. Restaurants galour, yoga, food truck. The hotel provided me with a 20% discount card to use at Ocean Restaurant; which I ate at 2x. The property’s gardens are lovely and shield some of the sounds of the night life. Sitting at the pool or in the restaurant or your own private patio (has two chairs, a table and a hammock), you would never know that you were in the middle of such a lively busy loud small Costa Rican town. The staff are great here; I really enjoyed Duego’s service at the restaurant. The bed and linens were super comfortable. You are provided with a fridge and safe. Room was cleaned each day. In my room, you had to run the hot water for awhile and I never used the cold tap before showering; however it is 30+ degrees in Tamarindo so you really don’t need a super hot shower. Make sure you keep the doors closed at dusk and early evening as the mosquitoes will visit :) Thank you to everyone at Tamarindo for making this place so lovely.

Amazing hotel with very nice, large and clean rooms. Just in Tamarindo center, but very quiet and relaxing. Lovely pool, with lots of vegetation. In the morning you can see and hear the resident group of howler monkeys that come to eat the fruit in the trees.

Our time was split between the Villa and the family room. Both were clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is really good. We travelled with our two daughters 7 and 5 and we all had a great time. Location is perfect as you are in the centre and can walk everywhere but removed from the chaos.

If you are looking for a place to stay that is walking distance to everything in Tamarindo then you would like this location. Very close to the Thursday night market and just steps away from the shops/restaurants/beach. It's tucked back in and is very jungle like. Lots of howler monkey's in the morning hours, even some were howling at 4am. For us never seeing a monkey before we loved this. The mosquitos/gnats were horrible!! They swarmed our patio, the pool area, and when we were eating breakfast. The breakfast was very good, especially the fresh fruit and juices. Our room needed updating. Very rustic and even on the edge of feeling dirty when walking on the tile floors. The entire place needs some work to get it looking like the pictures again online.

The hotel location is excellent, in the town center, while the lush garden gives you the impression that you are in the rain forest. The room is spacious, clean, with a covered sitting area in front of the entrance. Since the double rooms do not have a refrigerator, even though I am traveling alone, I was forced to take a triple room at the same price regardless of the number of guests in it. The selection of television channels is limited, with only one music channel. The breakfast is varied, you can choose one of the offered hot meals, among which are omelettes, burritos, pancakes, etc., with which you get various chopped fruits. You can serve yourself freshly squeezed fruit juices and coffee, as well as toasted bread, butter, jam. The pool in the yard is small, but the atmosphere around it is very pleasant, with comfortable deckchairs in the shade or in the sun. In the restaurant you can refresh yourself free of charge with cold lime flavored water. The hotel staff is very friendly. You can freely ask them to reheat your food if you have leftovers from a really plentiful breakfast.

Room was average, as expected. However the entire property has a mosquito problem. Room and patio were infested. Killed over 10 in the room alone. Pool area also had tons of mosquitoes, could not enjoy especially with young children. Could not wait to leave in the morning.

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel, and we had wanted a king room and apparently the hotel only has one king room located right next to the reception with the smallest little patio outside. So, we were very disappointed when we were shown the room and wished we had known the conditions for booking a king room, then we would not have done so. When we pointed out to the reception staff that the outside furniture was different for this room compared to all other rooms, they couldn’t care less and only very reluctantly to try to do something they took the furniture from another room to switch. There were a lot of small ants in the bathroom and the room was not very clean. The restaurant area does not at all look like the pictures and the floor should be changed. The breakfast was surprisingly good with several options and the staff very friendly. The pool area is ok, even though it is a bit small. The location is good, but I would recommend to stay somewhere else.

This was the 5th hotel we had booked for our tour of Costa Rica and the one I was most nervous about due to the mixed reviews. Thankfully it was absolutely fine, not luxurious but a good quality 3* property and definitely value for money. After a minor mix up at check in (swiftly resolved by the receptionist) we settled into room 13 which was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Breakfast was a combination of self service for juice, hot drinks, toast and cereals along with a menu for the hot food which is freshly cooked to order. Overall it was one of the best hotel breakfasts we had during our holiday - the pancakes were delicious! Location is good - we didn’t hear any noise from either the hotel bar or the bars outside the hotel (albeit we were there is low season). Helpfully there is a supermarket with ATMs opposite the hotel and I can recommend Falafel Bar which is a few doors down for a delicious and healthy lunch. Overall if you’ve booked this hotel then there is no need to worry - as long as you’re not expecting 5* luxury (which you haven’t paid for!) then you’ll have a comfortable and relaxing stay.
