Detailed Reviews
I stay here with my family and also with the yoga retreat groups I bring every time I come to Costa Rica. I love this place and I highly recommend it! The service is incredible, and the people who work here love it and have been working here for many years, which is a testament to great management. I just love being able to get here within 15 minutes from the airport, and be transported to this peaceful and tranquil setting, a world apart from its surroundings, with room for strolling under great big trees and beautiful flowers all around. The breakfast is great, and there’s also the steakhouse if you’re into have you dinners. There’s a nice little pool to lounge around, the tennis court, and a fun children’s playground. There’s a pool table and foosball.
The rooms are lovely, with comfortable beds, a big clean bathroom, AC and TV with Netflix. WiFi is pretty good even in rooms. This is a great place to bring families and groups, and just anytime you need a place to stay near the airport.
The staff is very responsive and helpful. I have been emailing back-and-forth with Loreana to coordinate the group logistics for the last two years and she’s always quick to respond and helpful. Davis, One of the waiters, is so friendly and helpful, and has been working here over 20 years.

Very cute place. Staff serving us breakfast was kind and thoughtful, we could choose from a little menu and it was made to order.
Room was very nice and spacious, bathroom was huge. Beautiful property. Not exactly right next to the airport as the map suggested but worth the little drive.

This place is 10 minutes from the airport and is gated, guarded with traditional clean rooms and a fantastic steakhouse! Highly recommend to stay if you'd like a place near the San Jose airport. We didn't use the pool, but the lobby had a pool table and foosball. The receptionist also booked an airport shuttle for us for the next morning. Our expectations were fairly low, but I was pleasantly surprised! The horse and saddle decor were very cool for native Montanans.

I stayed here for a night to catch an early flight. This place exceeded my expectations, great value, comfort, clean and roomy. After two weeks on the Pacific coast in high heat and humidity my room was breezy. My bathroom was clean and the shower was roomy. It was quiet, except for a moment around 2.00 am, loud talking, maybe security(?) but my windows were open. As I had to awake at 3.30 for my plane it wasn't a big deal. The restaurant was ho - hum and there weren't nearby by choices to which I could walk. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great spot. Perfect for a night after/before the airport. The staff was super friendly, the restaurant has some vegetarian options, and the facilities were really clean. The breakfast options are all local dishes with some fruits, coffee and juice.

+1
Lovely Hotel, beautiful garden, very big rooms & comfortable beds. The hotel is a bit outside of San Jose, but that means it is very quite! Breakfast is nice and the people are lovely. There is a bus station 2 min away, so you can easily get to the city center for 2 Dollars.

Very friendly staff, nice grounds, rooms are basic and probably European 2 star. But reasonable enough. Hotel lacks the basics like Tea & Coffee in room, Reception is very basic and offers no chance to get change or overnight essentials. Meal was in the steakhouse that is part of the hotel, very disappointing good service but terrible steak. Breakfast however was fine.

Watch the cancellation policy, they refused to issues a refund even though I was cancelling 3 months in advance due to the airlines changing my flight schedule. Lesson learned. They lost the future business with this policy, I understand the need for policy but should be on an individual basis given a reasonable amount of time and proof of circumstances beyond ones control. Terrible

We stayed there for one night before flying back home, since our flight was early in the morning.
The hotel is quite nice, some pieces are outdated, but still in good condition. The area is very quiet and well maintained.
The staff at the reception is very friendly and helpful. That includes the cat who may walk with you to your room ;)
Plenty of parking space.
The rooms are different from other hotels, lots of wood, even wooden floors. I loved it, better feeling than ceramic tiles and plain white walls. The beds are comfortable and large. The bathrooms are a bit old but everything works and everything is spotless.
The only thing I would mention is that there are no fridges and coffee makers in the room. You can actually ask for the coffee maker. But for the fridge - you will have to get some ice (near the pool table).
Please note that this review does not cover the steak house, only the hotel.

I really like this place, it is old school and far enough from the street that it isn't noisy. The grounds are landscaped well, the staff is nice and the restaurant on premises is really good and good value. This is my go to place when I fly in and out of Costa Rica which I do every few months. I have stayed pretty much everywhere in the area in my 22 years visiting/living in Costa Rica.

I think is perfectly possible, they are super great people. However might be a good idea if you call them just to confirm and ask for it. The local phone number is +506 2293 3909.
BTW enjoy our country :)
I took a cab that the hotel set up. It cost about $20 us dollars
Also, is there anyway to get food when we arrive (about 10:30pm) or is anything nearby (and safe). After a long day of travel we might be hungry.
