My son and I stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights this past week. We had an amazing vacation filled with peace and adventure. The place is very accommodating and the owners Paul and Lauren are wonderful hosts that will make you feel right at home. During our visit, we enjoyed hiking in the mountains with beautiful scenery, long... More

Spectacular!!! Beautiful place to rest and to enjoy the nature. The best food in all Costa Rica (breakfast, lunch and dinner) cooked by Ivonne with the help of Rei, good people and good swim in the river. We couldn't enjoy ridding the horses because we only stay one night but if we come back to Costa Rica, we will go... More

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in February as part of our honeymoon. We are adventurous travelers who gravitate away from the traditional tourist experience and Finca Rio Perla far exceeded our expectations. Host family Ivonne, Reynaldo and 11 year old Max became like family. Ivo made amazing homemade meals for us every day. I even learned... More

In an attempt to find somewhere to stay between Limon and San Jose the night before we flew out of Costa Rica I found Finca Rio Perla.   I was looking for a place for my two young boys to get out and burn some energy before our five hour flight home but we ended up spending the our last day... We had an amazing time staying here for two full days and three nights. If you want to meet people outside of the tourist industry and get a taste of real Tican life this is the place to go. Paul is the owner, and on the farm and in the small village we had the pleasure of befriending Reynaldo, Yvonne,... More

We had a wonderful two nights in late August at FRP. We landed in San Jose on Saturday, rented a car, and drove straight to the farm. We arrived Saturday late afternoon and it was a fairly easy drive until the last couple kilometers when we were glad to have an SUV. Jonny was a gracious, warm, and very knowledgeable... More

We were 3 people on a budget. They were kind enough to let us use the kitchen for a $3 fee per person, so we did. It felt like a really relaxed, homey environment. The place was super clean, very comfy, and supremely peaceful. Rockers on the porch, trees all around, sweet dogs. We enjoyed our stay very much. Breakfast... More

We loved staying at Finca Rio Perla on our trip across CR. It was an adventure getting there, but not too far off the main road to Limon. We should have arrived earlier rather than after dark in the rain! We did find the place and Johnny (our host) was waiting with a delicious diner ready. We sat and had... More

This review is coming a few years late but I have not stopped thinking about my stay at Finca Rio Perla. My boyfriend and I backpacked across Costa Rica for two weeks.
