Hotel La Diosa is located on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. We are located 2 km north of Cahuita. Cahuita is a small village with a lot of mixture of different cultures. Our hotel is located in front of the ocean. We have 4 rooms on one side of the hotel and on the other side 3 duplex bungalows. Breakfast buffet is included with our rates. We have a swimming pool and offer free wifi at our palapa. This is the perfect place if you would like to discover the beauty and charm of the Caribbean, staying in a relaxed and peaceful place. There is a restaurant across the street from the hotel.

So this is a small hotel near Cahuita town. It is not a gem. Nor is it beachfront. It is however overpriced but having said that, it still may be the best place to stay in Cahuita. The location is 2.7km from Cahuita township so you need a car or be prepared to walk to get anything. This would be inconvenient without your own transport. The hotel fronts onto water but it is rocky and not useable as such. A useable beach (with black sand) is 100m to the left of the hotel. We found: - the rooms to be clean - the bed to be comfortable - the pool to be good - a restaurant with simple options is right across the road and it was one of the better places we ate at - the air conditioning works well - the many hammocks to be convenient We also found: - our room to be dark - our room to have a broken toilet - the look and feel of the room to be not quite of the standard of the pictures provided by the hotel

It is a place with a good natural garden, but rooms are not well cleaned! The Jacuzzi’s Room has a not so good worker jacuzzi... The owner seems not so much interested into guests. You don’t feel so good welcome.

I saw the reviews and was looking forward to a great experience. Arrived in the later afternoon and felt that I was inconveniencing the man checking me in. Just did not feel that normal Costa Rica vibe I receive from so many. The location is outside of Cahuita, a bit of a rocky road to get there, but you do not need a 4x4. I did not see any sloths, but saw some birds and heard howler monkeys. Sloths would be been great to see, but saw them in the park the next day. After dinner, came back and saw the man checking in, and others sitting in the bar/dining area, but after the chilly reception, decided not to go and mingle. The room was fine, it was a two bedroom, and ended up eating breakfast at Soda Kawe, which was amazing. I was thinking of staying another night, but decided against it. When I go back, will look for a different place to stay.

Just returned from a four night stay at Hotel La Diosa. Marcelo greeted us warmly, even though we arrived late on a Wednesday evening after a long drive from SJO. We stayed in #5, which was furnished with two bedrooms (a double bed in each). The room was neat, clean, and quiet. Parking was abundant. We woke early the next morning, and what a sight presented itself to us - the grounds are gorgeous, well-maintained, and abound with flora and fauna (You want sloths? They're here.) What a simply beautiful spot perched on the Caribbean coast. The pool is very inviting, or check out the natural piscina at higher tides. Marcelo is an exemplary host - exceedingly gracious, polite, and cordial. He greeted my wife by name even though they had not met personally at check-in. And he helped us immensely by accommodating delivery of some personal items after we had to make a 5:00 AM departure to catch our return flight (Muchas gracias, Marcelo). We've stayed in three properties in Cahuita in the past two years; all have been very nice, but Hotel La Diosa has risen to the top of our list. We've little hesitation in recommending it for your consideration. Note that the two photos from the patio at #5 are the only ones I had on my phone, and they do not do Hotel La Diosa justice.

Stayed there for a couple of nights and everything was great, pool, room, bathroom etc. Just very unfortunate they don't serve breakfast. Also be aware of the road and consider the taxes and fees added to your bill because are not included,so don't be surprised if the price they told you is not the one you end it up paying. Over all, good place to stay.
