We stayed three nights at pagalu in a double room, since its not much more expensive than two beds in a dorm (which are very spacious!). The hostal is a cool building, lots of open spaces, well equipped kitchen and a big supermarket just around the corner. Next door you can rent bicicles and have many options to eat or...

Stayed for one night in a private room. Had a very comfy double bed, safe and ensuite. Room and ensuite was nice and clean as was the communal areas. Garden area was very pretty. I stayed in Room No 8. Great location, close to everything in Puerto Viejo town. I don't normally stay in hostels but would be happy to...

My boyfriend and I got a private room and we were very pleased. Things you may take for granted at home are a real luxury in central america such as: 1. working hot water with good pressure 2. overall clean room 3. still has a little safe in a private room (have had maids steal in other places) 4. they...

The doorms are spacious and comfortable, everything seems clean and the kitchen aria is good. Everything you need is here. It is a quiet place perfect for relaxing. There is a supermarket just next to it and the beach and restaurants/bars are all in a walking distance. But it is a bit expensive. I paid 13 dollars, and there is...

The hostel is really good! Has a great kitchen and also a great lobby. Bathrooms are always clean and it generally seems so be pretty new. Price is totally fine for what you get. I totally recommend this hostel!

Almost everything is done perfectly well here. And their popularity shows. They do not take reservations and obviously don't need to - the place is usually full and for good reason. Everything is scrupulously clean and well maintained. The dorm rooms are a good size and have a personal fan and reading light at every bed. Clean towels are provided...

Loved almost everything about the hostel. Great location (in contrast to the popular rocking J), spacious and clean rooms, large enough common area and nice vibe. Also very affordable private rooms. The only thing that was unacceptably bad was the staff, with the exception of Michael. The German staff member, Michael, was always very friendly and helpful. Everybody else who...

Reception: The guy on reception when I arrived wasn't entirely friendly, he seemed extremely bored when he gave me the welcome talk and showed me the room. This didn't improve throughout my 4 day stay at the hostel. The other staff were a bit friendlier. The common area: The lounge is nice to hang out, normally quite busy with other...

Where do I start?! This hostel has exceeded all my expectations of Central American hostels. Let's start with the open air communal area. With hammocks, benches and big tables this area was a great place to relax in. The kitchen was well equipped and has plenty of room. The wifi was the best I have experienced on my trip to...

Large spacious bunk beds in the dorms, a cupboard to lock things away (bring a padlock) and an amazing shared bathroom, the hostels sleeping facilities are great. The shared area has sofas, hammocks , a clean kitchen with a fridge, extremely cheap water to fill up your bottles and excellent wifi connection. Even the quiet background music they play is...
