We really enjoyed our stay at Shawandha Lodge. Our breakfast every morning was to die for. Better than the Marriott in Los Suenos! Our Cabina was secluded and the howler monkeys woke us up every morning which was cool. The only complaint we had with our stay was the bed. Very, very hard. It was like sleeping on a board.

Shawandha Lodge really is paradise. We just spent the week there and it was an incredible experience. First of all the place is beautiful, set in a lush jungle setting. After traveling all day the sense of peace that washed over us as we entered the property was almost overwhelming. We stayed in number 12, which is one of the...

We just returned from a 10 night stay At Shawandha and thought it was an incredible experience. The hotel is located about 6 km from Puerto Viejo which we liked. We wanted to be immersed in nature and detached from the noise and business of a town and that is what we got. The Shawandha lodge is on a large...

The bungalow was very cute and the breakfast and food at the restaurant were great!! They only problem we had was NO HOT water. Every shower we took was COLD! I guess it helped them save on water! Over all we did love this location! Staff was friendly and helpful! It was very relaxing to sleep to the sounds of...

We just stayed here for one night, but we had an amazing time. The cabin was very roomy and cozy, the bathroom was very nice with beautifully designed tiles, though one slight downer was that the water in the shower wasn't all that hot, but that would be my only complaint. Other then that, the grounds are beautiful, you feel...

My sister and I stayed at the Shawandha lodge in May, although this review comes a couple of months late. I can't get the awesome experience out of my mind so I figured I might as well share. Maria at the front desk is a superb hostess and makes you feel very much at home and is eager and willing...

My husband and I stayed at the Shawandha March 24-28 2009, This was our second visit to Costa Rica, but our first visit to the Caribbean coast. Earlier in the week we stayed at a different hotel closer to Puerto Viejo, it was nice but I couldn't seem to settle or enjoy myself, but when we arrived at the Shawandha...

Was there with my boyfriend and a friend of him for two nights, and I really liked this hotel, the bungalow looked nice and pretty clean, and also the bathroon was beautiful decorated. The breakfast was amaizing, I loved the way they cut the mango. This is a kind of those hotels where you go just to relax and be...

We finished off our holiday at Shawanda and stayed for 4 nights and were really, really disappointed. Mind you, we had been staying previously down the road at the Tree House and were completely blown away with this place. Shawanda is a beautiful property in stunning surroundings - the bungalows are impressive Balinese structures, very clean and with wonderful bathrooms,...

My husband and I just returned from an extended trip to Costa Rica that included the Central Highlands and Lowlands, as well as, 6 nights at the Shawandha Lodge on the southern Caribbean coast. This was the nicest of the 5 lodges we stayed in. From the moment we stepped out of our rental car, we felt like we had...
