Quite space, very close to beach. Comfortable just to sleep and shower, not plush at all, but I would stay for a couple of days again. Breakfast of eggs, coffee, and fruit served fresh every morning. A walk down the beach to different beautiful spots. If you wake up early enough, you will see the monkeys and slothes up in...

Stayed at Agapi with friends for a short weekend. The place has a relaxed feel characteristic of the Caribbean coast in Costa Rica. Stayed in a standard room, the room was clean and quite. The swimming pool seemed nice. Agapi is slightly away from the centre of Puerto Viejo but its walking distance from the restaurants and coffee shops. I...

These are by far withe worst beds/matrasses we've had (in the standard room with great ocean view) $75 was ridiculous for a 1 star room. It's not nearly as the photos on the site due to lack of maintenance.

The Agapi Hotel in Puerto Viejo (southeast town on the Caribbean coast in Costa Rica) is a jewel on many levels. The hotel sits a mere 30 yards from the Caribbean offering a private access to a public beach. The hotel is charming and "tropical" in every sense of the word. And the price is better than right. The central...

Yes, Agapi (meaning LOVE in Greek) is everything other guests have described so far. Simple, clean & best value for beachfront. It's located right where the rain forest meets the ocean. We were at walking distance from both the town of Puerto Viejo and Playa Cocles a beautiful surfing beach. Our room had fridge, stove, air conditioning, internet and a...

My stay at Agapi Hotel was absolutely wonderful. I can't wait to return to Puerto Viejo just to visit this hotel again. The location is amazing, we couldn't have stayed closer to the beach unless we were sleeping in the ocean. Plus all of the attractions and conveniences of restaurants, gift shops, and bars were just a short walk down...

I recently stayed at the Agapi Hotel in Puerto Viejo, Talmanca, Costa Rica. It's only 5 minutes from the center of town and right on the beach. The rooms are adequately furnished but the key is that at $60/night it's great value for the money. Don't expect luxury by any means but if you want an inexpensive stay near everything,...

Earl and family were so friendly and helpful. We rented bikes, took the jungle path to Puerto Viejo, and jogged over to Cocles beach on the same path. What a great spot, close enough to bike downtown, but far enough to escape the craziness. The pools were nice, the breakfasts tasty, and lots of things to do nearby. Felt very...

Talk about convenient...walk out the back side of the hotel your on a lovely path to; either the town of Puerto Viejo, or the other direction to the Cocles surf, swim beach. The room we had overlooking the pool has a view of the beach and ocean 50 meters away. Very interesting buildings. On the main road...never heard it buildings...
