This was a great place to experience Puerto Viejo. Andrew was an amazing host. Incredibly responsive to our requests. He was always proactively finding new ways to delight us whether by touring us around the property to point out the interesting plants and have us try tropical fruits, hunting for sloths, or stocking up his bar. The kids loved the...

We were happy to call this little paradise home for 1 week. Andrew,, Edwin, Toby and Sean were the most helpful hosts a tourist could ask for. Great advice on where to eat, what to do, where to go etc. Very relaxed and easy going hosts and great people to hang out with and have a beer while watching the...

We visited Cashew Hill in January of 2014. First let me say that this was a totally unique experience for us because we have never visited Costa Rica. My wife and I have never received better customer service. Have you ever met, relaxed with or spent really any time with the owner of a hotel you stayed at? After this...

Cashew Hills is a gem! Authentic Costa Rican rustic, a green oasis (including sloths!) and still close to town. Toby, Edwin and Sean hosted the best Christmas pot-luck dinner ever! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We loved this place! It was comfortable and we felt very much at home. We had visits every day from geckos of all sizes. They especially liked hanging out in the shower. The property is very rustic, open to the jungle, so its not for the 'princess' crowd. The whole property is on the edge of the jungle so there...

I came to Cashew Hill with the intention of staying two days in Puerto Viejo and ended up staying my whole vacation. It was just too beautiful to leave. Everything there was amazing, the people, the jungle, waking up to sloths and monkeys, the magnificient yoga deck with view to the ocean surrounded by jungletrees with hummingbirds flying by during...

Just returned from a wonderful vacation in CR spent at Cashew Hill. Great location in that you're tucked back far enough into the jungle to be surrounded by the nature of the area but still walking distance to town. Sean the manager and everyone else were very friendly and helpful. Also really liked having the full kitchen and the 2nd...

I stayed here traveling solo on my first visit to Puerto Viejo, which is where I now live. Cashew Hill is walking distance to downtown Puerto Viejo, set atop a hill in the jungle with a constant cool ocean breeze & a very tranquil feel. It's cozy & pretty quiet. Feels like a small, private gated community. There is a...

We stayed in the Playa Negra cottage in June 2013. The bathrooms smelled really bad, particularly the south bathroom, where the toilet seat was cracked. In general, the bathrooms were not particularly clean. There was a dead gecko on the small bed in the north bedroom. The pillow to that bed also smelled bad. The bedding generally was not fresh....
