We stayed for two nights at the Pachira Lodge. The setting and grounds were lovely and the Lodge is nestled in the rainforest with its own dock to the lagoon. Yes, the cottages are a little "rustic" but we didn't come to Costa Rica for luxury...we came to experience the country and its amazing variety of nature. You can only...

+ Beautiful tropical surroundings, sloth in tree very Near our room 0 rustic feel 0 this is to some extent roughing it 0 the setting makes high-level service impossible - No temperature control beyond ceiling fan - No shampoo - Electrical outlet not firmly in wall - Bathroom tissue not flushable - Walls very thin, you hear your neighbors very...

There is a very thin line between "efficient" and "conveyor belt" and this Lodge just stays on the right side - delivering what the tourists want in a cleverly managed, if rather slick manner. The rooms themselves were a bit of a disappointment with no storage at all so we had to live out of our bags. The hotel grounds...

Beautiful setting in the forest. The design of the villas are well adapted for the climate. Nice and very clean swimming pool. Confortable chairs on our own porch. Good food, very professionnal guides. I could havé spent more days. Our guide, Manfred was perfect. Sympathic, helpful, he knows his job well.

Just arrived home from a Caravan Tour of Costa Rica which included two nights at Parchira Lodge.I was impressed by the beauty of the rain forest and by the generally high quality of the facilities including the individual lodges. Without windows there are only screens to keep out the bugs and nothing to muffle the sound of the jungle. The...

Amazing lodge in the heart of a rain forest. Rooms are quite large and clean, bathrooms are basic. Loved the rocking chairs outside my room. At night you can hear tha monkeys and birds but there is no sign of insects or rodents in the rooms. It feels like you checked in to paradise. There are two pools which are...

After reading several trip advisor reviews, I was a little concerned about this two-day excursion. It caused me to visit a grocery store and buy various bug repellents and household sprays. I didn't need to bother. There was no problem. In fact the only place in Costa Rica I encountered horrid insect bites was in Hacienda Guachipelin? This was a...

Pachira lodge is a rustic but pleasant lodge in the middle of no-where. It takes a long drive and a boat ride to get here. The rooms are clean but saprse and a bit rustic. The lodge is nice and has excellent food. There's lots of wildlife on the premises (monkeys, sloths) which makes for a fun experience but also...

This was not a very nice place. First of all, the food was terrible (and you are not able to get anything else since you cannot leave the hotel on your own). I honestly woke up because the person next door was throwing up. And as noted above, he or she could not have eaten anything except for the food...

This is more about the experince than strictly the hotel! Very efficent service from being collected from our hotel in San Jose, a great guide who gave great info while on the coach journey to the breakfast stop. The roads after the breakfast stop to the quay where you transfer to the boats is pretty bumpy, but comfy air-conditioned coach...
